In any case, you can't use prices of cars in China/Asia/Australia etc. as an indication of what the price will be in the U.S.A. They charge horrendous taxes for cars there that's added to the prices they list there.

I was just going to post the above thread...that price is crazy! I have a deposit on the LF-A, but I was really thinking about $120,000...does anyone know the price difference of some other current models which are being sold in the US versus Asia for comparison?

A REAL one??? Why don't they knock that off too since they had similar lexus with the backward L???

Kidding aside, but not a good indicator for cross country referencing

Sounds about right. The Gallardo sells in China for RMB$2,980,000 = US$395,068. Knowing that the Gallardo lists for US$178,550 here, the LF-A's MSRP in the US can therefore be linearly interpolated to around $178,550 x $264,700 / $395,068 = US$119,630.

Math helps, guys.

Link to Gallardo's MSRP in China:

If that's what they will end up pricing it in the U.S., that would be a very reasonable price indeed.

That's an amazing price for a supercar *drools* It will cost less then a Lamborghini Gallardo and probably be a better build.

Default LF-A Production Date

My dealer has stated that Lexus told him the LF-A will go into production Jan 08 for the US and deliveries will start in April. No info regarding price.

wow april deliveries of the LF-A?. thats surprising.. I dont mean in the sense that its surprising the car goes in production in jan and then being delivered april (being that quick)... but i mean i didnt know it was launching as an 09 model. They wont make more than 500 of these first year anyway, like the R8. Totally exclusive.

I could have sworn it was said this car was coming out early 2009 as a 2010 model. I could be wrong though.

He must be thinking of the IS-F, not the LF-A, for a January '08 production date...

The dealer stated that the LF-A will be entering production about the same time as the IS-F arrives in show rooms. Several industry publications have also reported that the LF-A will arrive spring 08.

The IS-F was debuted as an actual production car in January '07 (for a release one year later).

The LF-A, which is not even the real name of the car (I hypothesize it will be the SC-F), has not even debuted as an actual production car.

I doubt that Lexus will "silently" debut the LF-A/SC-F sometime in the next few months. The debut of the LF-A will be heralded as a halo car for Lexus, and thus all marketing razzle-dazzle will be used to debut it for at least a year prior to release and sale.
