Amazing stuff. Thanks for sharing the find. Hopefully they'll put it up in their official website soon. I noticed, however, that the background sounds are the same as in the video already posted on the official website. Go check it out: (click on MOVIE)

About each one of those you mention: the GT2 sells in tiny numbers and is for people who want a more 'raw' Porsche. I don't imagine Ferrari sales will take a hit since cars like 430 have a typical couple of year waiting list anyway! And Corvette will likely be half the price of an LF-A.

I could see the LF-A maybe affecting sales of something like a Lambo Gallardo. But again the sales numbers are so tiny I don't think the LF-A is going to really impact the sales of others at all.

The video appears to be some kind of promo video.
I think the LF-A will take the sales the Acura NSX would have if it were still around. It's similar in that it will be a daily drivable exotic-looking car...only more luxurious and faster. They'll sell a few.

I really can't wait, this car will shut up all those people who think Lexus cars are too soft, too Toyota-ish.

hardly about sales, as I don't expect Lexus to be selling many of these anyway.

It'll be about who is swinging the bigger d*ck, as this is pretty much that sort of competition

I think 0-60 time of 4.0 seconds is on the conservative side;
The IS 350 has been clocked at 4.9 secs; the IS-F will be likely in the mid to low 4 secs and the 500 hp LF-A [ sure to be lighter than the IS] would likely reach 60 in below 4 seconds;

Even if it is 4.0 to 60, the overall package seems extremely desirable.
actually since the car will have over 500 hp and not a heavy vehicle like the M5/M6 0-60 time of 4+ would be mediocre if not poor. I would assume this car should be able to hang with the GTR in a straight line (0-60 in 3.5, 1/4 mi in 11.7) with more hp, lighter weight and bigger engine. I would assume 0-60 in 3.5-3.7 and 1/4 just under 12.

Interesting, the video currently there is the turntable one, and on the other turntable videos there is background music. For this YouTube vid either it is recording the background turntable engine sounds or the turntable vid recorded the display video sounds.

hang with the GT-R in a straight line?

It should beat the snot out of it. 0-60 in 3.2, 10/low 11 second 1/4 mile.

anything more than 3.5 seconds and I'd be really disappointed.

p.s. Is that a supra steering wheel in the mule?

No? Its been stated from the beginning that it wouldnt be. Many times in fact

The GTR runs an 11.7 1/4 mile time in one magazine, and turbo cars are easy to provide ringers for. 480hp and 3800lbs doesnt equal 11.7 1/4 mile times unless its at an absurdly low mph (think drag slicks and 4-link racing suspension)

By "scared", I meant in terms of performance not in terms of sales or reputation. Judging from what we know so far about the car, it will be able to hang performance-wise with the best supercars in the world.

Really disappointed, huh? What other cars can do 3.2 0-60? Besides something like a Veyron.

A 2005 Z06 was measured by C&D at 3.6 seconds 0-60 and 1/4 mi. in 11.7. That's 505HP 3147lbs.

If the LF-A is a lot faster I'll be surprised. And soon the ZR1 will come out which will be insanely fast with 600-700HP.

Ok. Maybe I exaggerate by saying really dissappointed..... but let me rephrase.

I'd be dissapointed if a 550+hp, sub 3100lb car doesn't accelerate faster than a 3800lb "480hp" car.

I bet a lot of people thought this in 1989 when the lexus brand debutted, forward to current day BMW and Mercedes already feel a ton of heat from the brand
