I also can't get over the fact that the next NSX is going to be front-engined. And for all intents and purposes, it might as well be vaporware for now, too.

Supposedly, the LF-A engine is about 4.8L, definitely less than 5.0.
I am willing to bet that it makes over 500hp tho.... 500hp in 2008/9 just isn't cutting it.
But if those ring times are true...... DAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUMMMMM!!!!

14 seconds= a lifetime on this track.
I need to see more reports though, that is too true to believe. Not only does that potentially make it the fastest production car on the ring, its up there with RACE cars.

Hmm... if they destroked it to 4.8L, that should make for a pretty high-revving motor. That'd be insane if it was higher than the 9,000rpm we've seen on the Tach of the concept's interior.

Would a 5.0L V10 be torquey enough? The M5's V10 seems a little low on torque (just look at the raw number) compared to V8s. (Maybe it's because of it's higher revving nature?)

The M5 is a 4,000lbs pig so the low torque can hurt. The LF-A on the other hand is targeting 3,000lbs so it may get away with less torque.

Honestly, after hearing the car on the Nur, I don't even care about low-end torque. High rpms ftw!
