That would be incredible if true, but I'd think that this is still a very preproduction version that's probably lighter than what we'll see in production.

I'm a bit skeptical of the 4.5L-580hp figure. It's definitely possible, but even Ferrari's top hp/L engines (albeit being V8s and not V10s) are only at 117-118 hp/L. This would take it to nearly 130.

I also can't get over the fact that the next NSX is going to be front-engined. And for all intents and purposes, it might as well be vaporware for now, too.

And no torque as usual.

Supposedly, the LF-A engine is about 4.8L, definitely less than 5.0.

I am willing to bet that it makes over 500hp tho.... 500hp in 2008/9 just isn't cutting it.

But if those ring times are true...... DAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUMMMMM!!!!

Hard to say since we dont know specs yet, but I dont believe it as much as I dont believe the GTR in stock form actually ran a 7:38.

As long as it is light enough, 500hp could possibly be enough.

14 seconds= a lifetime on this track.

I need to see more reports though, that is too true to believe. Not only does that potentially make it the fastest production car on the ring, its up there with RACE cars.

Hmm... if they destroked it to 4.8L, that should make for a pretty high-revving motor. That'd be insane if it was higher than the 9,000rpm we've seen on the Tach of the concept's interior.

Would a 5.0L V10 be torquey enough? The M5's V10 seems a little low on torque (just look at the raw number) compared to V8s. (Maybe it's because of it's higher revving nature?)

The M5 is a 4,000lbs pig so the low torque can hurt. The LF-A on the other hand is targeting 3,000lbs so it may get away with less torque.

Well guys Lexus cars for the most part have always been torquey (not a word, lol)..

BUT to get past 205 mph, they will have to sacrifice some torque and squeeze more horsepower out with a higher redline...

Honestly, after hearing the car on the Nur, I don't even care about low-end torque. High rpms ftw!

No word, but my hypothesis = it will have it's debut in late '08 (perhaps the Tokyo Auto Show), for release in late '09 as a MY'10 model.

Now, what Lexus has to worry about is not how well the LF-A does now, but how the LF-A will compare to other cars by that year...

I believe the Tokyo Auto Show is every other year. There will be no 2008 Tokyo Auto Show. There will be a 2009 Tokyo Auto Show...
