As far as I've seen on the other forums, there are true enthusiasts out there welcoming the LF-A. But I have also seen many skeptics out there bashing the car.

I personally doubt the new recorded time, because it's too good to be true for a car making less than 600hps. If the time stands true, it will be a great day for all the Lexus enthusiasts out there. This car will change the history of Toyota and Lexus.

I don't doubt the time posted by the test mule, but I do share the doubt cast by many skeptics about whether the production car can even come close, simply because it'll have to concede to many production concerns such as emissions (less aggressive tuning), safety (more heavy safety items), longevity (the IS-F's redline was lowered from 7000rpm to 6800rpm because Toyota's corporate culture enforces a 200,000-mile longevity) and tire regulations (who knows what tires the 7:24 test mule was running), etc., not to mention that, to be badged as a Lexus, it'll likely carry a good amount of luxury items as standard such as power windows and seats, a full-fledged premium audio system, above-average sound insulation, 6 airbags, etc., all of which can add up to a lot more weight than the test mule posting the 7:24 lap time.

When it comes time, whatever speeds and times the final car gets will not matter.

What will matter is that the engineers at Toyota were able to do this, to be able to prove that they can throw down the gauntlet at anytime.

This car will come out at a price point a few ten thousand $ cheaper than a Ferrari 430, but will have equal performance and mystique. This is going to be basically what Ford wanted the GT to be themselves. Except it draws a lot less of "heritage" and other bull**** and more about technical superiority and nuances in the details of the engineering.

I would like to just once again quote STIG just a few posts up, I think he very concisely summed up my feelings.
If the time stands true, it will be a great day for all the Lexus enthusiasts out there. This car will change the history of Toyota and Lexus.

Mike I am having to scroll from here to the side of hell and back to read each post stretched out on this page with those pics in it.

FYI, they are kinda wide.

Tell the skeptics when they are riding a car that can outlap a Pagani Zonda F at the ring to come back when they have something useful to say. Only one car has ever done it... guess who?

I just had a thought, I think the LF-A is the "halo" Lexus/Toyota will have first and then (AND I HOPE) come out with multiple coupes after (Supra, next AE86, Celica replacement, MR2 replacement, etc).

FYI, they are kinda wide.
It's the ads that Clublexus has on the right.
I have a 15" widescreen MBP and the only reason I have to scroll is because of that.

No it's not. I clearly said I cannot read the posts. When I cannot see the edit or quote button, nor the page selector.... it's inside the tables. Like.... I wouldn't know when a pic is too wide? How your screen displays things is irelevant to others. I have a 17in widescreen laptop that has 4in of room on both sides. The standard laptop that is not a mac widescreen is not going to display it properly due to the size of the pics.

I was just mentioning, don't get so defensive about it.

I browse on a relatively small resolutioned display but the pics are fine. The obsession of not allowing large pics needs to be let up. If anything I'm sure the IB techs could just write a small script to resize pics on display.

Besides, I think the photoshop jobs were excellent, I have the black one as my wall paper right now -- I just wish I had a higher resolutioned version
