Great vid, for one that's made from a static 3D model I guess. Would've been so much more awesome if they'd show the real prototype car blistering around the track.

Are there any spy shots of the ragtop going around the Ring?

I love reading all the silly comments made in that thread. I can't wait to bring back that thread from the dead when the LF-A production car hits, just to see some people eat their words .

Nice eye candy. Too bad the car doesn't actually move.

Not sure which 'silly comments' you mean (I just perused it) but that thread is so old (2 1/2 years) the pics aren't even around any longer.

I can only think of a few car releases that have been more drawn out, like the 'Vector' or the Veyron.

Anyway, this brochure is interesting - the most close-up details I've seen:

What does it mean by "Torque tube encased drive shaft"?

I have no idea but I remember something being said about it using a hollow driveshaft to reduce weight but still have good structure and rigidity.

Transmission is in the back, the torque tube transmits torque from the engine to the transaxle. It is essentially hollow and has a driveshaft inside.

Correct. Torque tubes are typically used when the transmission is in the rear of the car in order to directly send torque from the engine to the transmission. In the case of the LF-A, the torque tube also serves as a structural member that's part of the chassis which adds rigidity. I think Lexus has said that the torque tube is carbon fiber.

I doubt it. That video is a video of a video . The sound quality is not that great. The IS-F does not sound so high-pitched though, and if you focus on the gear changes and the way the engine is revving it definitely sounds different than the IS-F. I'm 99% sure the soundtrack is from the LF-A's V10.

Lexus also had a video posted a few years ago of the original LF-A concept, where the V10 engine was heard.
