Help me configure my LFA
After some prodding, my dealer agreed to take a order or perhaps pre-order for and LFA.
It will require a $2500 deposit.
He asked me to list the options I would like.
Since there is no real info, I figured I will just cook up my own list and ask for your input.
So far I have:
Hard top convertible if available.
Non metallic white paint.
Factory clear bra.
Combo leather alcantara interior, two tone red and gray.
Heated and cooled sport seats.
Matching luggage.
Combo carbon fiber and bamboo trim.
HD Radio with full IPod integration, nav, back up camera and park assist.
Focal Speakers (I know this won't happen but I want to let them know someone want something other than ML).
Tufenkian Tibetan wool carpets.
The right to include either the V10 or the Hybrid power option.
SMG Transmission.
Carboceramic brakes with Lexus Logos on the calipers.
Wheels with body color spokes and polished lips.
Factory tour while car is being built with track training.
After I finish cooking the list I will put the paperwork in place with the dealer and then disclose who I am working with.
It will require a $2500 deposit.

First, let me congratulate you on placing a pre-order of possibly one of the best sports cars in the near future. But seriously, taking $2500 for pre-orders on a car not yet announced for production is irresponsible enough. Taking such pre-orders with options is just ridiculous. Unless your "wish list" propagates to the people who actually make decisions on which options to offer, it just doesn't make sense at this point for the dealer to accept options. I mean, come on, what makes you think they'll offer things as specific as "bamboo trim" , "Focal speakers", "Tufenkian Tibetan wool carpets" and "factory tour"? While it may be fun compiling the list of options and all, I hope you're not too serious and thinking too hard about them. I'm saying all this only because I envy you.

The deposit is not my favorite part but the dealer confirmed they did that for both the 460 and 600 to weed out the tourists.
No ISF for me as I have a sedan don't connect with the body kit and am jonesing for an SMG car and a convertible would be my pick (even though it would not be as fast as the coupe).
No three pedal car as I live around the city and dumped the S2000 because of suffering in traffic with a clutch.
I will add the LED lights to the list.
The odd stuff was not about being demanding. It was about saying to Lexus, Ferrari puts an emphasis now on personalization and so should you. Let's see if they bite on those ideas (as apposed to the dunderheads at Acura).
And for you folks who haven't put their footsies on a Tufenkian carpet, go visit a high end rug store.
On the speakers, other manufacturers are going to esthetic vendors like B and O (Audi). Is it so crazy to ask for real Audiophile equipment in the Halo car?
Regarding timeframe for the car, my crystal ball (albeit from Sears) says November 2008. By then I will have had two more raises, perhaps a promotion and have jacked my tenants rents up twice so I will be ready for paying the bill.

I think there is little doubt that the LF-A will indeed be produced. From all indications it will be within the next two years and could be as early as late 2008.
My Lexus dealer has put me on the top of the list for the LF-A and the IS-F without asking for any deposit down.
As for the options, asking for your preferance even before the particulars about the car itself are known is a bit far fetched. Fun but far fetched nonetheless.
What is this flat white color? I understand white is the traditional color for Japanese sports cars but I am not sure what the LF-A would look like in flat white.
