That's the first thing I looked for, a clue to the chassis. An aluminum box structure to carry the engine is about all I can deduce at this point. It could be married to an aluminum chassis structure or to a carbon fiber structure for the cabin.

All-in-all, the 24 hour race was a great undertaking. It would be interesting to hear what the problems were they ran into but we may not hear all the final details. One post referred to a possible oil leak in the transaxle, those pesky fittings no doubt. It's exciting to see them put themselves out there in the public eye even though flamers will have a field day. Toyota/Lexus is a serious company and this is a serious effort.

chassis is probably lighter and stronger, construction resembles a race car more than a production car

it says #447
does that mean they have built at least 447 of these engines?

That could be quite likely. Also looking closely at the cylinder heads, those do not look like aluminum heads.

I'm puzzled by this statement. Care to elaborate a little please?

What I mean is that the cylinder heads have a 'matte' look to them. They have a different color and hue than the aluminum frame we see that the body panels are attached to. Then again, it could just be the lighting or that the cylinder heads have a different finish to them than the frame.

Yeah, about that you are right, but I see the tappet covers, not the cylinder heads.....
