So I guess you're going to completely dismiss the posters here on CL that have a reliable, accurate track record of having insider info too ?

What's even more funny is the lack of common sense some people here have .

Using common sense and logic alone, one could easily figure out that they changed the front end design from the LF-A II concept for cooling reasons alone.

We shall see, but I think many of you may be surprised by the production car. There have been spy videos of a black near-production LF-A having an exhaust note similar to the white one.

People to this day continue to be surprised by the exhaust note of a stock IS-F.

Can we all PLEASE stick to the LF-A and NOT about each other.

G-man, Lexus styling is about detail and has always been underrated IMO. They have had "L' shapes in their cars for a long long time and designers have been quoted as saying "yes the Lexus L was the influence".
In most cases it works well.

So when the GT-R took nearly as long, if not longer, where were the?????

The GT-R Pronto concept debuted at Tokyo in 2001.

Funny how the mind is so forgetful when its Lexus/Toyota.

Then it became this concept

Which became this.

Correct, the GT-R took roughly as long from concept to production as the LF A is taking.

Actually 2 years less. Toyota/Lexus officially debuted the LF-A concept in 2005. The Tokyo motor show will be 4 years. If we take into account the time time when it first started lapping the ring (2003..when it was identified as the Toyota TSX... the Supra successor) then the gestation time would have been about the same... 6 years (GT-R 2001-2007).

Thanks for the correction. The gestation period is what I actually meant.

Oh no you didn't post facts instead of playing "jump to conclusions"

i don't quite understand the 'matte' finish, but the front design looks GREAT. more functional, less 'batman'

the tape around the headlight enclosures is probably just hiding chrome trim maybe?

The 1st photos were around 2003? I thought it was 2004, because I remember seeing the photos of a new Supra being seen on N-ring the summer I graduated HS

The first photos may have been in 2004, that I'm not sure about, but what is definitely known is that LF-A development first started in 2003.

I dont know, if I were going to spend $300000+ on a car, I would want something a little more original than the LF-A.
