Has anyone ever notice the center console design trend in the LF A?

I don't think anyone has ever noticed it, but many sure did complain about the center console design angle in the HS250h. See the trend...

but it's less ugly on the LF-A because there is less of a slope since the nav screen is lower. plus it extends all the way instead of leaving a gap between the center console and the arm rest.

You can almost close the gap by sliding the armrest forward to the dash. Most everyone complained about the angled center console just like they originally did with Gen 3 Prius.

It extends because of the driveshaft/transmission tunnel hump all RWD cars have to face. Since the HS is FWD...you get the picture.

Indeed you can. I guess I didn't realize how many people complained about the HS angled console as well as the Gen 3 Prius. I'm quite sure the angle is for both design, and ergonomics.
