Some more tidbits about the LFA via its Chief Engineer talking with the Bangkok Post:

That is amazing. I hope Lexus will soon update the software for the transmission and put a launch control system. It certainly has the trap speed and power to weight ratio of a 11.3 - 11.5 secs @ 125 - 128 mph car.
I am really hoping LFA will put down some serious Nurburgring lap times like the chief engineer has stated when asked by journalists. 7:18 is what the chief engineer has replied with, which is more than 10 seconds faster than GTR, about 9 seconds faster than ZR-1, about 7 seconds faster than GT2 etc.

The answer to the question of a faster version intrigues me. Also- there has been reports that there was a lap record set at the Goodwood circuit by the LFA. A 1:27.7 was by the driver in the last video I posted, riggers. But there are other reports saying another driver went almost 3 seconds faster, a retired race driver with a camera man on board did a 1:24.8! That's 3 whole seconds faster than the next competitor on the fastest lap list- the Nissan GTR with a 1:27.8!

7:18 at the ring is amazing. That's only a few seconds off of the Apollo who's weight is 800 pounds less and 200 more HP. Truth in engineering right there. We seen it with the top gear lap time, in the wet it was 3 seconds faster around a smaller track than the gallardo with 'superior awd'

they've run prototypes before they even switched to carbon fiber I heard, this was about 2 years ago, we saw the LFA reports of it doing a 7:24. I could be wrong, and that could be a carbon chassis LFA, but still that was prototype, they've had races since then and the race car was doing the nordschleife in under 6:50

Regarding the sales numbers, just an update via the Asia press conference held last week, as mentioned above and elsewhere, it was stated that 10% of the LFA allocation to certain regions (unspecified) remains unsold. Now the head of Lexus College in the US has mentioned to Ward's Auto (subscriber only) that some remaining LFAs will be sold to dealers.

Unfortunately, I cannot find the link for the 7:18 right now.
However, I have another one here where when asked repeatedly, Tanahashi admitted "better than 7 minutes 20 seconds"

Do you have a link to this quote of the 7:18 lap time? I've never heard about it anywhere, and if there really is such a quote I wonder if it's regarding the production car or not, since the fastest 'Ring time I've seen "quoted" is 7:23 from Akira Lida the chief LFA test driver, and even that is just an estimate since he's never run the car without traffic.

Black is handsome on the LFA, not like the red, the red stands out, the black makes it look sinister and sleek. The white makes it look elegant. I like black the best so far. then Blue.

If the LFA can indeed do better than 7:18 @ the Ring, it could very well bump down the Porsche GT2 RS from it's 5th place ranking.
track times here:

A 7:18 lap time will definitely shut all the haters down.
