Yes that could be a plausible explanation.

I don't like the yellow. I think gloss black, white, and red are the best colors on the LF-A

I wonder what numbers the show will come up with. Hopefully it's good. I'm interested in the one mile test a lot, see what kinda speed the LFA shows. Wonder if it'll be 'bogged' down by the wing again in this test or if they changed the spoiler angle (doubtfully).

Well, this prototype had launch control system. You could clearly see Tanner using it as the revs gradually build up to around 3800 - 4000 rpm and then it dropped the clutch from there.

I think this is a new prototype rather than repainted white one (hopefully). The video looks like Tanner maxed out 3rd gear, which goes till 138 mph.

So it took that LFA only 11.x seconds for it to get from 0 - 138 mph? That is almost too fast.

Love the Video Mike!!!!

Chrome is NOT allowed on the LFA.. EVER...!!!

The wheel only comes in 3 Finishes.

The one in this video is what Lexus calls: "Buff Polish Finish"
- probably done by hand..

The other two colors are:

"Dark Premium Metallic Coating"

&

"Light Premium Metallic Coating"

That sound is nuts. From about 1:15 onward to about 1:30 full throttle right in front of the camera man.

Yes, this Yellow LFA is a New prototype that debuted here in SoCal on August 15th, 2010.
Officially unveiled on the Concept Lawn at Pebble Beach, during the annual Concours d’Elegance.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but one of the things I like about the LFA is in its very intentional Japanese design elements.

The front face is reminiscent of Japanese Samurai Mask with the mouth side cheeks and eyes...

While the rear has some sort of warrior paint motif with the blackened radiator grills, throwing caution on all who dare tread on it! Reminds me a lot of old E. Honda! hehe

That's a good eye. I thought it looked like a samurai mask up front too. So if that LFA is brand new I wonder if it'll be any faster or slower than the other prototypes.

I think he might have gone slower or faster than that. But, going back viewing it again, the LFA starts launching at 1:42, and ends 3rd gear just before 1:52 so if what you say is true and he isn't short shifting then it could potentially be hitting 135mph in short amount of time

I remember Mike (1SICKLEX) posting something that the 2nd Gen ES was designed with samurai masks in mind as well.

But I agree, I did notice that at the time they unveiled the "final" concept LFA.

Although I do really miss the LFA II and LFA I designs.

I am 100% positive he went till redline in 1st and 2nd.

Regarding third gear, it may or may not have reached the redline, but he did wind out most of third gear so he must have been in the 128 - 135 mph region and still that shows LFA possibly has a ~130 mph trap speed, which is what I have been hoping for.

That makes me hope LFA would be 11.x@130 - 131 mph. That will be just fabulous.
