LFA destroyed the R8 V10 on the road course. It was such a short course and the R8 V10 got a huge early lead off the line and despite that the LFA easily got the win. That's pretty impressive.

Overall, the show had some very good moments.

Still, no way to launch the car and Tanner was using neutral dropping.

However, I was very disappointed in the top speed run where R8 V10 won by 1 mile. Tanner was saying the wing cost him 6 - 8 mph easily and there was no way he could lower the wing. He was definitely right about that. It did again bring the question of too much downforce on the LFA again much like SportAuto.

In the one mile race, again a screwed up launch (Tanner admitted to dropping the ball in the launch), but LFA reeled it back in and won at a speed of 167 mph.

1 mile result:

LFA: 30.58 secs@167 mph

R8 V10: 30.64@166.1 mph

Out of the three launch, only one launch worked properly for Tanner in the 0 - 100 - 0 mph and got an easy lead of 3 - 4 car lengths, but tanner lost because he did not start braking until after 100 mph.

The road course is where the LFA won clearly despite again a screwed up launch giving R8 a clear 3 - 4 car lead.

There should have been a 60 - 130 mph test just like in other episodes and I am sure LFA would have beaten it very badly.

LFA's wing creates too much drag over 170 mph and cannot be retracted resulting in reducing acceleration a lot, which is why LFA did not win that test.

Actually, the biggest disappointment was the 0 - 100 - 0 mph test where Tanner made a big blunder of not starting to brake until he was well past 100 mph while Paul was 3 car lengths behind and hit the brakes right exactly at 100 mph.

This should have been in the LFA's bag.

For 2x the price, I'm glad the LFA romped the R8 V10...

Would love to see this online somewhere

Some stats for results:

Standing mile:

LFA: 30.58 secs@167 mph (admitted to screwing up the launch big time. Neutral dropped).
R8: 30.64@ 166.1 mph

Top speed:

LFA: 184.1 mph
R8 V10: 185 mph

0 - 100 - 0 mph

LFA: 1168 ft@ 14.4 secs (LFA smoked off the line 3 - 4 car lengths lead. Tanner claims he was using launch control system)
R8 V10: 1167 ft @ 13.8 secs

Road Course (1 mile)

LFA: 44.8 secs
R8 V10: 45.9 secs

(Tanner screwed up the launch in LFA big time, but still won by about 9 - 10 car lengths behind the LFA at about 112 mph)

Overall winner: Presenter gave the win to LFA/Tanner over the huge win in the Road course.

It was a good result for the LFA. Though Tanner did mess up the 0-100-0 he still was only 2 feet and 6tenths off the win. He would have had it if he paid more attention the speed the LFA reached. 184.1mph vs. 185.1mph, no wonder they said this was one of the closest match ups they had. The stats looked good though. Standing mile in about 31 seconds. That puts the LFA is some good company. Even without launch control. I didn't see them say that the LFA was wearing the Michellin's this episode though, so maybe it still was on the demo car's Bridgestone tires? The road course is where it shined through! A whole second faster with an arguably lesser racer with a bogged start! I knew the LFA would come through. It was good to hear the comments of the drivers though. They had nothing but praise for the LFA! At times I thought, is this a Lexus commercial? lol, but nah- the LFA is that good. I loved what Paul said, arguably the end all to be all supercar! haha, coming from a racers mouth that's some good words.

Okay I don't mean to nitpick buy I've watched it 3 times and i don't see how the Audi won the top speed.
- I saw 184 on the LFA dash an I saw 183 on the R8 dash. I never saw 185. When Paul crossed the red finish line it was 183 and he screams "186"?? And they give him 185
-they both got a start so not sure how the R8 would win if we just saw the LFA pull the R8 in the previous race
- LFA has a top speed of 202.. What is the R8 top speed?

Also tanner states how heat helps ceramics and well I see the cars parked before the brake test. Would have liked to see the Audi with theor optional ceramic brakes for an apples to apples test. Ceramics help with track fade and weight not teLly stopping distance.

Still great show but that slightly bugs me.

I think the video switched screens before it crossed the finish line (there was a finish line, you saw right?? where they were supposed to start braking). They use VBOX to verify through GPS the actual speed of the car so I doubt there might be issues there. I have no doubts the spoiler cost LFA easily 6 - 8 mph in the top speed run. I wish Lexus had given a way to retract the spoiler.

Regarding the braking test, it is easy to see Tanner messed up big time. He was caught in the heat of the moment and was exciting about pulling away so fast from the R8 with a perfect launch. Considering he was 3 - 4 car lengths ahead already before 100 mph, he should have started braking much earlier, but if you watch the video closely, both cars started braking exactly at the sametime
