great info there joe, that makes sense.

so that means the lfa will be wearing s001 then as factory tires? if so, we will have to hear back from gengar about what he heard from lexus (conflicting info)

So I just got done flipping through the Very Nice LFA E-Brochure on Lexus.com

http://ebrochures.lexus.com/publicat...ac#/031983ac/8

I didn't take long to find this in writing and the photo.

So just my educated guess, is that it will be an LFA Specifically built S001 tire..

Bespoke Assymetric Bridgestone = custom made to the buyer's specifications, which in this case is Lexus'

hahaha joe is good seems like they use generic s001 pic without the center thread cut down

so there is one more proof now that lexus is using s001 on the lfa. really wonder if this is going to be the only option or if they will have new options on that down the road, if there are other better tires as factory choice

LoL Thanks Henry!!!

I can almost 99.99% assure you that, the Yellow LFA has NO center thread cut down as well...

With only 500 sets of these tires needed, I am only going to guess that this will be the only choice...

But yeah, Im just guessing on this one...

Weird, I've read that the production car will have specially made tires, and that the tires on the LFA's now are just S001s but not the final spec.

Why only 500 sets? I was told that the selling dealers are required to stock spares, so they would have to make at least 1000 sets.

That's some good work by JoeZ to identify the tread patterns. Of course, it still doesn't mean that the S001 will be the OEM tire (the fact the tread pattern shown in a Lexus brochure is the S001 isn't indicative of the final tire, since the S001 is actually what is on the LFAs right now). In any case, I'll post here when I hear back from Lexus.

Ok 1,000

My point was towards the fact that only 500 LFAs will be made...

Not sure how quick each owner will burn through a set of bespoke design tires by Bridgestone, that look like S001's ..

I have nothing in that regards. They had a chance to send one individual to the event on Long Island. However, a Lexus rep won the draw
I will post here if I ever get an invite to drive one.

I think if the car is used on the track then who knows... . Hopefully the LFA does not eat tires like my old GS430 did.

hahaha for sure more than 1000 as well, i am sure tires wear out j/k

i am not surprised though if they have variants of the s001 (if it ends up being the official tires) for the lfa. it's just like the many variants of ps2 for different cars. volume is one thing, but i am sure tires for lfa won't be cheap anyway. if variants will help the lfa performance, why not
