interesting, the car has launch control? i wonder how much that will help the time. if that's true, funny... (anyway)

achieving those power without direct injection, that's one very cool idea i think.

Definitely. To those who compare this to the Ferrari F458 figures, the big difference is the Ferrari engine has direct injection. The F458 4.5L V8 makes 570 HP, or 127 HP/L. The 4.8L LFA V10 makes 552 HP, or 115 HP/L. However, the LFA engine achieves this without direct injection, unlike the Ferrari.

That is quite a commendable achievement. To compare, the Carrera GT's 5.7L V10 also does not have direct injection, and it achieves 605 HP, or 106 HP/L. The LFA V10 exceeds the Carrera GT's HP/L easily.

The LFA also easily exceeds the HP/L of the Audi/Lambo 5.2L V10, and the BMW 5.0L V10.

Direct Injection gives anywhere from a 10-15% increase in power, as well as fuel economy. Toyota's D4-S direct injection system gives roughly a 14% power increase.

If we do some rough calculations for the LFA engine, with direct injection it would be making roughly 629 HP, or 131 HP/L.

Just some food for thought.

- at 202 mph, the LFA generates over 552 pounds of downforce
- the engine doesn't have direct injection; Toyota could have added it, but felt it wasn't needed, partly because F1 engines don't use direct injection
Nice interesting tidbits.
3.5-3.6 secs w/o the launch control. I wonder what it is with the launch control. 3.2-3.3 secs ?

What about Torquez? Run the numbers please TRD?

I bet the car will pull less that 3.3 seconds to 60 w/ LC.

3.0 even... lol

Another tidbit somewhat mentioned earlier in the thread:

- the LFA does in fact have an amazing turning circle; it is 19.7 feet. To compare, an IS F has a turning circle of 33.5 feet .

With launch control, I fully expect the car to be able to achieve a 0-60 mph time of at least 3.3-3.4 seconds, maybe lower.

Toyota's D4-S system gives roughly an 11% increase in torque. If the LFA V10 had direct injection, it would be making roughly 629 HP and 393 lb-ft torque.

Default Turning circle comparison

Also here are some other turning circles from a variety of cars, just for comparison purposes:

Lexus LFA: 19.7 feet

Porsche 911 GT2: 35.7 feet
911 GT3 RS: 35.8 feet
Ferrari Enzo: 40.4 feet
Carrera GT: 42.3 feet
Lamborghini LP640: 41.2 feet
Nissan GT-R: 37.4 feet
Ferrari F50: 41 feet
McLaren F1: 42.7 feet

It really is quite stunning that the LFA has such a tiny turning circle. Typically you only see such turning circles on race cars.

I couldn't believe it myself, but it's listed on the official worldwide LFA website. Unless it's a mistake or specs change, that seems to be the actual turning circle of the car!

yeah i think i brought up about the turning circle first. it's insanely small compare to any of the other competitors. so small that indeed i wonder if the number is correct. but then again it's on all the lfa official spec so i am quoting that. the dark side of me is still pretty skeptical, it's a big gap between the lfa and other cars
