Not sure if this has been posted yet but they had a 1:1 scale replica of the LFA at the Tokyo Motor Show as well.

The description given for the transparent sculpture read:

"A sculpture modeled after the full-size LFA, displayed at the Milan Design Week 2009, the world's largest design exhibition held in Milan Design Week 2009, the world's largest design exhibition held in Milan in April every year. Lexus has participated in the Milan Design Week since 2005, to explore unprecedented possibilities of L-finesse, Lexus design philosophy. In 2009, Lexus collaborated with Sou Fujimoto, a Japanese architect, to express the overwhelming "flow" of the speed and dynamism of the LFA. The transparent model symbolizes the idea of given shape to something that is shapeless, to express the sublime "flow"."

I am 100% the same way right now. I believe it for the moment since it is on official Lexus specs, but in a part of my mind I am still skeptical that it's such an amazing turning circle. Then again, I am amazed at so many other things with this car . This car has continued to surprise me, and I wouldn't be surprised if the real turning circle is in-fact 19.7 feet.

I guess we won't know for sure until the car goes on-sale and we see full, detailed reviews of the production model.

Default Meaning of the name LFA

So I found out what LFA means from a Japanese site:

LFA means “Lexus Future Advance”.

- the engine doesn't have direct injection; Toyota could have added it, but felt it wasn't needed, partly because F1 engines don't use direct injection
When I read to here, it's remind me of the past story about GTR warranty void. However, this is a group of people who can pay 400k for a car. Any chance they start whining about void warranty over a trannie?

Now, I can add a second car to my dream car list.

If they are going to do launch control I hope they do it right and keep the vaunted Lexus reliability.

Interesting. Can you cite the source.

Looking at the incredible attention to detail in this car, I'm quite sure the transmission will be reliable, even with using launch control. The transmission was tested in the harshest of conditions, the ADAC 24 Hours of Nurburgring race, twice in fact.

My source is a contact of mine in Japan. He could be wrong, but often he has been right.

The details about launch control, and the car's downforce have all been mentioned as well in several Japanese magazines/media outlets. Whether they are completely true or accurate I can't say.

Edmunds Inside Line also reiterated some of these points.

The lack of direct injection is based on the fact that the engine code lacks direct injection designation, plus it is not mentioned in any of the LFA technical documents out there.

Also an interesting tidbit that seems to have been updated on the Lexus worldwide site:

The 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds is listed as "acceleration with the weight equivalent of two occupants". Makes you wonder what is the 0-60 mph time with only one occupant.

Also caught a small error on the site, they say 0~60 km/h, I think that should say 0-100 km/h or 0-60 mp/h .

BTW, I've always wonder about how they take the weight of the driver into account in these tests.

For example :

Weight of 1SICKLEX(one occupant) = Weight of rominl + his wife(two occupants)

i think they use a "standard" avg number of around 160 or 180 per "body"?

wait umm... now that explains why i smoke so many people on the road, must be the weight!
