Indeed, the LFA is amazing, and like Autoblog suggests, it will be even more wonderful if they put all that carbon fiber, weight reduction, and other engineering expertise to a sub $100K car to slot in the massive gap between the FT-86, IS-F, and...LFA. ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'd like to know also what the official criteria are for an owner who can "represent the LEXUS brand." Armani? 250K/year?

Yes, as Gojirra99 pointed out, it should be way higher...put it simply, for me, "if you have to ask you can't afford it" applies to my earlier post.
Indeed, I recall now reading that profile of the LX owners, who are the highest average income profile of any Lexus buyer, even the LS. The LFA should top that handily.

at $375k, it is cheaper than similarly built enzo with the carbon fiber body and ceramic brakes... but way more than the almost as fast 911...
exactly what cars compete with the LFA? it's confusing when idiots blog they would rather have a bargain GTR, all the way to comparing it to the million dollar bugatti...

Many discussions have touched on the value/who is the car intended for/why did Lexus build this car stuff.
Let's talk positioning.
While development was underway, I thought (dumb me) that they were taking the old Acura playbook and building a car to toast whatever 8 cylinder F car was on the market at the time (as the NSX did when introduced).
That I have seen now is more of a composite (as was the case for the current generation IS).
The LFA is:
A luxury GT with extreme performance like the F599
A small run exclusive vehicle like the Alfa 8C or MB SLR
A halo car like the F Enzo, P Carrera GT and more recent Nissan GT-R

Huh
? Technically, the Veyron *IS* an answer to questions people have asked. It might not be questions you deem relevant, or questions that most people care about, but they are questions that people have asked.
The Veyron answers idealist questions such as: can a production car achieve a top speed of 400 km/h, can a production car achieve 1000 HP stock output, and will Bugatti ever be relevant again?
The Veyron single-handedly revived the historic Bugatti brand and has now made the brand very relevant on a worldwide scale in today's modern era.
The LFA is an answer to A LOT of questions and criticisms that many people have asked about Toyota/Lexus over the years.
Questions/criticisms such as:
- What is the point of Toyota's F1 involvement?
- Toyota will never be able to compete with supercar makers
- Toyota lacks innovation, they simply copy other's ideas and perfect them
- Toyota lacks passion
- Toyota doesn't know about performance
- and on and on
The point is, the LFA answers ALL of these questions and criticisms about Toyota.

2 weeks? i wonder if that really proves who wants to be on the order list... i was told to be on the pre-order list and to be considered as a buyer to put down $10,000. then deposits will stop being collected in january. lexus will then take a month to decided which people will get the car (btw, the representative said "500" is not the confirmed number of units to be built either, but close). in febrauary, they will announce who has been picked, which at that point another $50,000 will be needed. hope that helps whoever is going to buy this!
In regards to the Bugatti, "Nobody can afford it", that is about the only thing you were remotely correct on in this post. 99% of car enthusiasts would take Buggatti if it were affordable, but it is not , so does that mean nobody wants it? I am sure most people would like to think that way.

Mike,
You have written some very good blogs, but this LFA one is by far my favorite.![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I'm truly fascinated with the car and the 10 year road it took to bring it to market. Amazing.
Everytime I see a picture of it or read an article I enjoy it more than a goat that goes to Hooters and could care less about the wings!![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'm certain I will never be able to own one of these gems, dang I'll be lucky if I ever get to sit in one LOL but I have a lot of love, admiration and respect for the car.
I'm glad you wrote about it, Thanks!!
PS mmarshall could you add this to your review list for us

All joking aside the levels of customization are pretty impressive.
