I sure hope they build it, I always think the roadster looks better then the coupe. The rear quarter section of the coupe always looks a little odd to me.

I love this pic:

That roadster concept is old. It was based on the coupe concept III. Therefore, the roadster (if it comes into fruition) will be similar to the production coupe and not the concept coupe.

Yes of course, you are correct.

I was just saying the roadster looks better without the odd shape of the coupe's rear quarter. Like how the Audi R8's spyder looks way smoother then the coupe without the odd side blade section.

Funny how I prefer the production 3/4 rear angle a lot more over the concept 3/4 angle.

However, I think the concept front by virtue of the lights were much better designed compared to those of the final production one's. I am not crazy about the triangular lights of the production model. I prefer the "parallelogram" geometry design of the lights like in the concept.

I agree the concept rear end does look better, but it lacks the personality of the production version. The sweeping "A" shaped lines that angle up to the deck lid have more L-finesse DNA, and can also be seen influencing the LF-Gh concept:

Same here, I prefer the front end of the concept much better, it looks so much smoother without that odd shape front fenders, I don't like the triangular lights of the production model either.

My favorite is the roadster concept's front end. I hated the production front end the 1st time I saw it, it is just now slowly growing on me.

The 3/4 rear angle I was talking about coupe vs. roadster, not production vs. concept

I was talking about I prefer the rear 3/4 angle of the roadster over the coupe, because the roadster don't have that weird rear 3/4 angle

Post Update

Following the debut of the Lexus LFA Concept, Toyota’s luxury brand brought a roadster version of the study to the auto show circuit in 2008. Known as the Lexus LFA Roadster Concept, the study gave us hopes and dreams of a drop-top variant to the company’s $375,000 supercar.

Unfortunately, those hopes and dreams are being shattered today. Bill Kwong of Lexus Division Communication tells us that the Lexus LFA Roadster “was purely a concept and was created as the result of a styling exercise. He said that “there were no plans for a production version.”

We then decided to ask Kwong about the possibility of a V8 option for the new Lexus GS sedan, a question that is been bothering since the launch of the 2013 GS last month. At launch the 2013 Lexus GS is only being offered with V6 and hybrid powertrain. So will there be a V8?

“With gas prices escalating, the importance of the V8 engine in the GS/Mid-Luxury Segment is on the decline,” Kwong told us. “At launch, V6 and hybrid powertrains will be offered. Lexus is confident that the performance of its V6 engine will exceed the expectations of nearly all of its prospective buyers.”

Basically, that leaves you with the IS-F and the $375,000 LFA as the downright hardcore ‘sports cars’ from Lexus.

A regular SC500 with this body style should still be well under $100K

You are right, somehow I was thinking making the entire LFA Roadster into a SC500, V10, carbon and all, don't know why I think that.

It is so easy for Toyota, make a coupe just like the LFA Roadster out of steel with some aluminum, maybe one carbon fiber panel just to be cool. Use the entire ISF drivetrain, just carry over. MSRP is $90k. They would sell a bunch of them just like when the SC430 just came out.
