It's not new I agree since My sis E46 M3 has it or even the old E30 M3. It may not be a wow to you just like how the 9000RPM redline is not really big deal to the S2K guys. There is nothing wrong with that.... but to ME it is impressive regardless.

To be fair, S2K is a 4 cyl, while the LFA is a V10. With a V10 DOHC design, you need to cope with a lot more internal friction (and heat) than a 4 cyl DOHC design.
IMHO, it would be fair to say that for a V10, the LFA's redline being at 9000 RPM, and fuel cut-off being at 9500 RPM is very impressive indeed. It is one of the highest, if not THE highest-revving production V10 engines in history.
