Well Lexus can always add a supercharger or a couple of turbos on the top of the V10 to throw in mighty big numbers like an Audi S line or GTR prducing very big numbers. The technical advancements is what that matters. As clearly said in some of the adverts, LFA is an engineers wet dream. Getting the weight distribution, kerb weight, downforce, aerodynamics, performance per cylinder, performance per litre of engine size, carbon fibre weaved monocoque, and most of all drivability and reliability etc are very impressive. It is all about how far these can be stretched. The engine itself revs happily to 9500 rpm which itself is a big advancement for a road car (I know race cars do have high revving engines but they are high maintenance and unreliable). GTR is another car with good turbos and tune but LFA would be one of its kind (atleast for now).

As I said sooner rather than later some tuning company will come out with a supercharger or a couple of turbos on this na engine producing very high numbers. Or lexus may use this technology and actually add a battery of some sort and make it a hybrid and still produce big numbers with a decent mpg. I am very impressed with LFA even though I might never get my hands on one of them even for a couple of mins.

To understand about what an LFA is .. you have to look past the normal car towards F1 ... like in the following video ...

But the LFA has no turbo to begin with, someone has to do R/D and get a kit together. Based on the cost of UGR Kits for Lambos and Ferrari's the LFA kit will probably be in $50K range plus at the minimum. I'm not saying it can't be done but at this point it's easier to mod a GTR than LFA.

Excellent masterpiece of it's own kind. If money was no object, I would have both cars sitting in my garage

How many people put a turbo on Mclaren SLR? Enzo? Carrera GT?

I don't get why people keep comparing the LFA to the GTR, different interests, different cars, different market.

i actually don't mind people comparing the lfa to gtr. i have seen people comparing the gtr to other exotics too like the LP. fact is gtr is one great machine, i don't think anyone here would doubt that. and there have been a lot of ring and track times too showing what the gtr is capable of.

but at the same time i think people need to understand if compare the two cars, stick to the performance or numbers, coz' that's probably where the similarities end. comparing other things especially when bringing the price into play just makes it very funny (in the eyes of people who can actually afford the lfa).

furthermore, i find it even more ridiculous when people see the gtr lose and say a modded one will win. if that becomes part of the equation, then it will never end. might as well put drivers and all other variables in and call it a day.

We tried to get one in order to mod it but it is not to be....at least until the leases expire.

We'll just have to make do with the 252.9mph ford GT twin turbo for now.

Look for us at texas with over 2000hp this october.

The LFA is krazy sick in a class of its own. You look at lambos ferraris even buggatti no other exotic has and interior that can compare. THe sound i can listen to all day like its my favorite song. I'm hoping what we see is a hyped up version of the supra. Then comparing the two would be even sweeter.
