Nope. It's just fugly. You can make a functional car look beautiful. They didn't do that.
Look at the McLaren F1. It was functional and was still one of the best looking super-cars of all time.
The Nurburgring Race LFAs looked much better without the vent.
That was sexy. The production car is fugly.

pretty cool, but the noise was amplified by the microphone. Not as impressive as you guys think though. I dont think many people have ever been next to a car on the dyno. It gets pretty damn loud let alone to have it amplified. Slick none the less. Thanks for sharing

Without the microphone this contrived setup clearly wouldn't have worked without simply blowing the glass over with exhaust before it got to the right RPM. If you read the supporting links the glass was shattered by the specific sound frequency.
Certainly if you've been near a dyno you know a high performance car strapped down at full speed is loud enough to do something like this without being "amplified by the microphone"
. It's the specific glass they selected that resonates at the right frequency that is the trick here.
Pretty cool, but wish it made more of a statement.

I can't believe you said the McLaren F1 is boring to look at. lol
It's all good though. If I had oil tycoon money, I'd buy one just for the noise. I wouldn't be able to see the vent/scoop when I'm driving it.

Anyway, my only point to bringing up the McLaren was that you can make a car extremely functional without adversely effecting it's looks.
