Quite surprising. Design wise, they look exactly the same as the E9X M3's nostrills and in the case of the M3, they are intakes that inhale air.

funny thing, on the e9x m3 (passenger side one is cosmetic btw, only driver side is functional), on rainy days, if you gun the car, the opening actually spray out water, meaning air is coming out
