I think this video verifies what I said a while back. The Nurburgring race car LFA is detuned to 480 HP and limited to 7500 rpm to meet the SP8 class requirements.
That is what I believe was writting in Japanese that the road-going version is limited at 9500 rpm and the race car is limited to 7500 rpm.

Take 1 of each of the following: a Lexus LFA, a Nissan GT-R, a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, a Porsche GT2 RS, and a Ferrari F430 GT3, toss in the Fuji Circuit race track, and wave the green flag. Who will come out as the victor at the end of 3 laps? That’s entirely what this video aims to find out.
There is just under 3000 hp between the racers here, and engine sizes coming in 6-, 8-, and 10-cylinder flavors, 2 of which use a form of forced induction. There are different engineering mentalities at play, ranging from ultra-lightweight (the Porsche) to all-out thrust and power (the Corvette). 4 out of the 5 in the field are rear-wheel drive (the GT-R is the lone all-wheel drive offering), and 2 place their engines behind the passenger cabin. The most powerful of the bunch — the ZR1 — produces 638 hp while the meekest — the GT-R — puts down “just” 530 hp. How the 5 cars finish may surprise you — but even if they don’t, the video below is still worth a watch for any supercar fan.

No. The start favored GTR because it launched before all the other cars and got out in the front.
The GTR passed LFA as soon as it launched well ahead of all the other cars and got in front. At the first corner, while LFA was right on the tail of the GTR, it passed the GTR as soon as both cars hit the straight.
The surface was very low-grip favoring AWD plus the super sticky GT Maxx tires on GTR. That is why all RWD cars (ZR-1 the most) were struggling for grip.

It looked as if the GT-R got a jump on everyone. It even passed the LFA for a brief moment in the first corner, but the LFA snatched back the lead and won the lap.

I have to interject, although I don't want to. You seem to do this alot. How are you so sure about this? The LFA didn't seem like it was struggling for grip. In fact it looked like it had a decent launch and seemed quicker around the bends than all the other cars.

I think he might have a point with the tires here JP. I think the highly balanced setup has made it easier to control the car, but with grippier tires the LFA could be a lot faster in the corners

ZR-1 cornering so slow was a dead giveaway that the surface is very low grip. I am sure if someone translated Hattori's comments, you will hear how he has very little grip in the turns.
Even at the launch, the GTR jumped the line all over other cars.
All that aside, I was merely re-iterating what Motohide said that Fuji is a low grip surface compared to say, Tsukuba circuit, which is a high grip surface track.
