Lexus LFA and other exotics at Calgary International Auto Show Canada
Saw LFA for the first time in real life. What a stunning car. Pictures don't do justice especially on the back, which is why I tried to take as much time to find the right angles to capture as much detail as possible. In real life, it looks very round and not boxy at all. The rear is not flat at all. It is very round and very 3-dimensional with the exhaust triangle clearly protruding out. The front looks very very aggressive in my opinion. However, I heard a chick dissing the front over there calling it "normal looking".
Another thing that is astonishing is how small Lexus LFA looks in real life. Although, it is a wide car, but comparatively it is very short and has a very low roof line.
The wheel gaps are non existent and the car sits so low to the ground that one has to wonder how it would do over potholes. The fit, finish, quality and materials are just mind blowing. I hope these pictures I took do justice to it.
I am posting a few pictures of other exotics so that they can be compared in similar light conditions. I also took pictures of LP560-4 and 570-4, but they did not turn out well.
Some notes:
- Talked to a few people at the Lexus booth. They confirmed demand for Lexus LFA in Canada was so high that a draw system had to be used to select the 10 qualified people to purchase the Lexus LFA. They claimed Lexus Canada could have easily sold another 15 - 20 in Canada. Lexus refused to increase allocations in Canada.
- In the draw system, originally two owners of the ten were selected for Calgary. One of them turned the LFA down while the other one bought it so it is confirmed only 1 LFA is coming to Calgary and not 2. 5 of them alone are going to Vancouver.
- The model on display was a production model LFA.

Lexus Champion
It would be better if Lexus had the LFA out on the floor like the Ferrari's were. Then the pictures could be taken as if you were standing there looking down on it. The way it is in the little stand, makes it difficult to judge how low it is to the ground. White is an awesome color though.
