You never know how the result will turn out. I just hope we get to see it soon. While the gt2 may be faster, that won't mean it'll get past.

Is there a way we know for a fact it was only a 2 lap battle?? I do know Best Motoring worship the GTR and the NSX-R, but I am hoping LFA will prove its prowess now.
I'm an LFA follower but I think we're in for some major disappointment here. If what I read and see from this Japanese blog is correct, the LFA actually starts first, then the F430 "RSD" (some track variant it seems, judging from the fixed rear wing), the ZR-1, the 2012 GT-R, and lastly the GT2 RS. The way they decide the grid position is not by power-to-weight ratio, but by time attack. Yes, you read it right, the LFA placed dead last in the time attack over a single lap, with the GT2 RS leading the GT-R and the rest. It's going to be sad day for the LFA fans if the race does unfold like it does in the teaser video.

Slowest single lap of LFA's home turf where it was born and bred? Are you serious? Very very disappointing. How many laps are there in the race? If GTR indeed started behind the LFA then as rominl said, it definitely passed the LFA as the teaser video shows and the gap kept getting bigger.

Lexus made a terrible mistake on selection of tires on the LFA since all other cars are wearing seriously sticky rubber. And then is the weight of luxury items such as, electric heated seats etc.

Fuji speedway is also one of the bigger tracks in the world with a length of 4600 meters (2.9 miles or 4.6 KM), which is bigger compared to say even Infineon, which is 4.0 KM long (2.5 miles) so if LFA does not win on this track. I doubt it can win on 99% of the tracks around the world. That is not saying much about what LFA is supposed to be - a halo super car.

I could see Ferrari, Nissan and Corvette fans having a field day with this one ripping on the LFA.

That's not a ZR-1. Looks like a plain old Z06.

I don't buy it. Just because it's not the fastest around Fuji doesn't mean it'll lose. That is a ZR1- you can tell by the dark carbon fiber roof.

Let's be optimistic. That shot above is the finishing order!

As much as I want to, seriously with the GT2 RS rounding out the back, it is only likely to be from the slowest to the fastest. Best Motoring does that to give the slow cars a fighting chance by placing the fastest 600 meters behind the slowest. I am afraid the way it is shaping up to be, GT2 RS and GTR slaughtered the LFA on a massive 4.6 KM track it was named after, bred and tuned on.

Fuji is a very high-speed race track with the longest straight high-speed section of the world. Supercars can reach typically even up to 290 - 300 km on that straight after coming out of turn 16. The video clip most likely was taken at turn 3.

The straight alone is 1.5 KM long (nearly 1 mile long). It must be doing well till turn 16 in the time attack. I am sure LFA lost most of its ground on the last straight section since it has been a very well known issue that LFA just does not have the top speed acceleration once past 260 km/h due to the excessive downforce from that ludicrous spoiler.

best motoring is close to a japanese top gear w/o the crap commentary. They're entertainment first, regardless it's hard to believe the LFA loses out at high speed to a gtr.

Old GTR, you are right. The new GTR is different. It has much more top end acceleration than the older model. You can see in the clip it stretched the gap before turn 3 right after the long straight. Wait and see.

530hp to 550hp isn't a big difference. Theres other videos showing the two side by side down the straight.
