Default Lexus LFA vs Suzuki GSX-R 750 on the highway drag race

Reminds me of one of those Toyota Supra highway races. Apparently, the bike owner claims LFA beat him till 170 mph and then the bike reeled him in after that.

Owner also posted and said his bike was a 750 and not 1000.

Austin,TX tollway north. I had just pulled on the hwy when the LFA did, I tool a quick picture and kept on. A few miles later, I saw them in my rear view side by dide with the Gixxer, so I grabbed my phone as fast as I could and floored the 2010 CTS. My estimates, put them around the 140-160 mark, as it took me a while to catch them, doing 130 myself.
The biker in the video also replied:

LOL! Nice video bro, but yeah my bike is a 750. This race all came about due to some smack talking between me and the owner of the 420,000$ beauty. So i had to show him my 3,500$ beast! And yeah the speedo in his vehicle read 164mph as i walked past him, so you would be safe to say i was tucked and ducked at around mid to high 170mph. However after you said cut we found ourselves heads up at a light on palmer and i had a lil trouble putting him away as he hung with me through 1st and 2nd.

Yeah its fun to play with bikes in my ISF. I have had a few run ins with some sport bikers...mainly the showboater with a 600. They think they can outrun me but they're always back off when it gets past 120mph and they can't hold on anymore. LOL

Yeah, the owner admits LFA destroyed him till 170 mph and then they had to slow down.

Seriously, this LFA owner is the retired guy from Atlanta. What is he thinking? He would end up totalling that LFA with those type of shenanigans.

Do you know for a fact its the same guy from Atlanta? I really doubt he's going to risk racing his LFA in Austin, TX which is nowhere near Atlanta. There have been many LFA deliveries since January...and some of them were Silver.

Yes, good point.

Since the silver one I had seen before belongs to the Atlanta gentleman, I assumed it was him. I agree, if it is in Austin TX, it must be someone else.

hanging with a 750cc to 165mph is a good feat, and it doesn't sound like the bike owner is afraid to push it. LFA is faster than it leads off, I'm sure of it.

Yeah, the biker admitted LFA was ahead till 165 mph. He did not start reeling the LFA in till 170 mph and then they had to let off.

A 'gixser' 750 is no slouch though! Any sport bike with that sized engine and up should be pretty fast.

Seriously! It's the ricer mentality for bikes. Mainly kids with Gixxers.

Haha that's no fair. Let me shoehorn the 1LR-GUE in my ISF, then lets talk. LOL

It does not say, but probably they went at it from 10 - 20 mph rolling start.

The GSX-R 750 of recent years are capable of 1/4 mile in low-10 seconds compared to low-11 seconds for the Lexus LFA.

it sure is....some 17 year old gets a 600 and thinks he's god gift to the world till he realizes he learned the 600 rather quickly and it no longer has enough power for them.

yeah i got a 96 katana 600 with a 1200 bandit motor shoved into it and alot of motor work (its in pieces ATM getting some fresh paint work). liked it better than my 2004 turboed 1000 i sold to get my 2005 gsxr 1000 just wasnt as civilized as the 2005

very true but almost NO car will take a bike from a dead stop now a roll-n-go a handful of cars can take over but MOST bikes will catch them. hell i have even seen some bikes get taken at the higher speeds (especially since now they lowering the governor on most bikes )

consider they were on highways, i doubt it was that kind of slow rolling start. i am not surprised if they started around 60
