Thinking of getting one. Value?

Thinking of getting one. Value?
Hi all. So I've been thinking of getting one of these cars. I have to admit I haven't done that much research on it but was offered an October car and I may be in between cars at that point. My question really is, what value are attached to these? I've gone through 3 Ferrari 458's already and they haven't cost me anything. I just hand it back to them and get a new one. I'll pick up the spyder in 2012. In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to drive this for 6 months. If I like it, I'll just keep it long term as it seems to be a pretty good collector car. Otherwise, I'd give it back when I pick up the spyder. So, do these go at market+? Is there a wait list? Is there a market for these things post sale yet? Thanks all. Appreciate the input.

i suggest you talk to lexus first, they want you to keep the car for 2 yrs. and i highly doubt the car goes for market+ considering it's still available at msrp. i don't think any owners are selling their car yet
can we see pics of your 3 458?

It's anyone's guess on the future value of the car.

Oh I don't mind the ROFR. I mean, as long as I get back the purchase price it's fine with me. I just want to make sure I don't take a haircut. It seems like there isn't really a wait list though for this car.

Please share some pics of your toy box.
The chance of not taking a haircut is kind of small here.
A dealer in FL, has a car in stock (for about a month) and as has been mentioned, there are US allocations left to be taken.
Did you dealer give you any details about the slot. I would not typically expect them to be able to start a conversation with a delivery date for these unless they have a order in already and are trying to find a replacement customer.
Also, did the dealer mention a willingness to take back the car? As has been mentioned, you either take delivery with what looks like a 2 year lease a purchase with stipulations regarding the dealer's right of first refusal for 2 years.

Hmm, no the dealer didn't mention that the cars were lease only. That sort of precludes me buying the thing outright. Like I said, I don't mind the right of first refusal but you guys realize that means that ROFR is set at MSRP. If I go below, it's open season. Dealer didn't mention willingness to take it back. Apparently, it's a strange sort of car. It's not exactly dealer specified. You go through some specialist and they deliver to any dealer you want. I don't know, it was kind of hard to figure out when I talked to them. If a dealer in FL hasn't been able to unload one, that's a bad sign. That's a shame. I thought this car would be fun for a bit.

Love the Pics, particularly the red w black top
You have the option to purchase
My previous email had a typo where I tried to outline that option
If you sell above sticker within 2 years you have to give the dealer an option to buy from you or give profits to them
If trincap is for trinity Capitol I bet you love that
If that is your shop your love of fast food has translated to a love of fast cars
The ordering via a ps is to provide a process guided by someone with knowledge and access to info
Lexus decided it did not make sense to try to train sales folks at each dealership on a car they might sell one of
From what we have seen to date many of the us cars are going to dealers for their own use/display

the red 458 is money!!!
for the lfa, the idea of the whole thing is to avoid people flipping the car for higher values, that's why if one sells for higher than msrp, dealer has the first right to purchase back. about the lease, i think a few (including gengar, lfa owner) have posted that you can buy it out cash now.
i think to you the biggest problem is whether the car will keep its value at msrp after 6 months. it's really hard to predict for sure, but my guess is it will be hard. like people pointed out, there is a car available in FL as is already for more than a month, and there are still allocations available from lexus for order.

There are actually very easy ways around the right of first refusal. I actually made 40k on a f430 spyder and 90k on a Ferrari 599 even after signing one for both. Yeah, 458 wait lists are two years. If this lfa has ones for sale then I don't think this is going to work. A shame. This car is priced all wrong. I know they are still losing money but they should have priced it in line with the superleggaria and made a few thousand of them to offset. I guess I'll pick up a gtr or something. Worst case there I only lose 20k or so. Thanks guys.
