It's killing me to imagine what the results would've been if #88 LFA wasn't put out of commission for so long.
As of about 47minutes ago, #88 is in 88th place. What a great recovery considering it got back in at 138th. 7 hours left in the race, good luck to team Gazoo.

That was bad luck on the 88 LFA. Did it get rear ended in the pit lane? I think it would have been in the top 10 at the rate it was going after 5 hours.

Lexus Europe on twitter said they were going to get details of the accident from Gazoo. It may be available on Gazoo's blog or website, although it's likely to be in Japanese.

Gazoo's site was in english as well. It was during a yellow flag period on a certain part of the track. You're supposed to go slow but a car from behind obviously didn't get the message. Rear ended them, so the damage was pretty severe. Replaced the bumper, exhaust, diffuser etc. They ended up finishing 42nd. Sad, but for losing two hours almost it's a good result.

Summary of the 2011 race from GAZOO site.

It appeared that #88 LFA loss over 3 hours due to being rear ended at a yellow flag. Also it explained the purpose of the blue flash light on the windshield (seen in one of the videos posted by Flipside).

A very well written article. Enjoyed reading it,.
The only complaint I would have about the Gazoo team is that they are not racing enough. They only participate in the 24-hour Nurburgring racing series, but not in Le Mans where they should be at this point.

Gazoo is a grass roots racing organization. And their blog covers SuperGT as well. They're mostly Japanese oriented. Toyota is in LeMans. You should keep up with it. http://www.toyotahybridracing.com

Agree, they should try to get the LFA in more races.
