GTE=GT2, and no it shouldn't take top priority, especially after the testing accident with the LMP1 car. They'll need to get on the move to make a new chassis for it as the one they had was ruined.

That's correct! Of course that's just a test car so the final version would look different in ways, and would definitely have the Lexus badge. I guess they're waiting on the future of the GTE class and concentrating on the LMP1 car for now.

The LFA finished 22nd overall at the VLN round 2 at the Nurburgring yesterday, 1st in class with a fast lap of 8:36.972. It finished ahead of a Ferrari 458 and a Lexus IS-F that was co-piloted with GT5 creator Kazunori Yamauchi (fast lap of 9:18.157).

Wow! LFA beat the 458 Italia in the SP8 class.

Yeah, LFA was doing great last year placing 5th overall in VLN 5, but then getting rear ended destroyed the campaign (considering it was already #19th overall when it got slammed in the back).
I still am wondering if Ferrari might be sandbagging?? I know LFA and 458 Italia are fairly evenly matched, but 13 seconds difference sounds way too big. Could Ferari be sandbagging with only the Nurburgring 24-hours as the target where they will go full force?

The 458 isn't one of their GT3 type cars to my knowledge, so they don't hope to compete with the likes of the LFA and the SP9 class. The LFA isn't going to be near those types of cars either (the SP9 class) as they're GT3 type cars. The laps turned by them were in the 8:25's with a fast lap in the 8:15's by an Audi R8 LMS Ultra. That's over 20 seconds faster than the LFA's best. Unless they make a GT3 type LFA, they will probably be happy to break the top 20 or top 10.
