At 0:27, in regards to the regular LFA he drove a year ago: "If I have to make a top 5 of supercars I ever drove, this would be in it, no doubt."
At 8:19, he says: "When you talk about the difference between this car and the normal LFA: 7 seconds. That is a lot on this track. The sensation is incredible." So which lap times of the LFA and the Nurburgring Edition is he referring to?

The chief engineer said, on the average the difference between Nurburgring edition and standard edition is 7 seconds around the Nurburgring, when asked by the journalists. That is what he is referring to.

Well, then understand what question someone was asking Chris and the context of it, first.
There are two distinct configurations of Nordschliefe like I described in my previous email. Someone was asking if it is the long/full 20.8 km version of the track or the shorter 20.6 km configuration of the track so he gave the accurate answer, it is the 20.6 km "shorter" configuration of the Nordschliefe track.
It has nothing to do with what your "suspicions" are pointing towards.

Don't come at me like that, for starters. Second there wasn't any 'suspicion' on my part. I asked what he was talking about. What is the difference between the 'short' sport auto layout and the 'full' track? Do you know? Maybe you could enlighten us since you seem to know surely the LFA set this time on a shorter variation.
The full long 20.8 KM version is rarely used. Only AutoBild in the LFA vs GTR vs LP570-4 vs SLS AMG vs Turbo S vs Weismann GT5 vs 458 Italia supercomparo used the full 20.8 KM configuration of the track.
Someone was asking Chris, if Akira Iida did the 20.6 KM lap or the 20.8 km lap and Chris Harris told that person it was the 'shorter' 20.6 KM lay out of the track that is used by SportAuto.

Yes, short version length is 20.6 KM, which is used by SportAuto and all the manufacturers to do their lap times.

Quote: "Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) has set a new lap record for an electric vehicle (EV) at the legendary 20.8km Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany."
EDIT: On the other hand, can you tell from the video whether it was a 20.6km or a 20.8km lap that the Toyota EV ran (I can't tell)? The "20.8km" wording in the PR may just be used to describe the track, not the lap, after all.

Thanks. If that's really the case can you imagine what a HUGE fuzz the LFA launch could've been if Lexus had gotten a 7:21 (7:14 + 7 secs) lap out of it, at the time of launch over a year ago, when there were no such thing as the GT2 RS, the Apollo Speed, or the revised ZR1 equipped with godly tires? What a missed opportunity.

Sorry guys, they did not include the video of the record lap, only the owner's personal laps and hot laps with Akira. Makes sense, I guess - Lexus probably wants to release the video.
