I still never understood why Jay Leno never picked up a Lexus LFA??

He is a car collector and even has a car like Nissan GTR. He recently bought a Maclaren MPC. My guess is, he thought LFA was too close in philosophy to his Porsche Carrera GT.

Hi Ryan, nice to see you here too. I really like the last shoot you did with your car .

The NSX looks way older than the LFA. Like I mentioned before, I only posted the pictures where both card looked good. One day I will own both

Maybe he will pick one up later, it would help if someone could introduce him to the car in person. I'm sure he would fall in love instantly .

It is the massive wheels that create that illusion and a high belt line.

As a matter of fact, at 176 inches LFA is shorter than even a Toyota Corolla of today and the roofline is almost the same as the NSX.

good point, i took a look to compare. i can't believe you got the length of the car wrong! (j/k)

lfa: 177.4 x 74.6 x 48 3263lb
nsx: 174.2 x 71.3 x 46 3153lb

so 20 yrs and lexus only grow the size by 3 inches in length, 3 inches in width (important imho), and 2 inches in height. and also, only 100lb in weight. those are not easy numbers imho!!!!

and i also think the lfa "looks" bigger because of the higher belt line and overall bulky design, which is more like a trend these days

Believe it or not, Lexus LFA does not have the same length globally. There is a variation in its length depending on the market.

The length varies from 4460 mm (175.5) - 4510 mm (177.4) depending on the market. It has mostly to do with bumper and pedestrian safety regulations.

However, yeah what you said is exactly what I meant. Increase of the width is a very good thing especially for handling. While in other areas, it is mostly an illusion due to the high beltline and very large and wide size wheels.

Wow really. Do you have pics of the two different bumper designs? I would think that the rear winglet option may also contribute a bit to the length variation.

i think it's the front (and rear?) bumpers sticking out more because some places (like here in the US) has tighter regulations.

for example most lexus here in the US they have front bumpers that stick out more than the same models in japan

i have always loved the "slick / slim" design of the nsx. gives a very light and "small" feeling. you don't see that in recent cars anymore, which tend to carry more of a bulky styling. if anything i think the 458 is an exception as of late

It was great to meet up with Brylek; it was fortunate that our schedules managed to work out for a very impromptu meetup. The NSX has always been one of my all-time favorite cars and I had previously considered either picking up a Comptech or buying one and modding it with the Comptech kit, so it was great to finally see one in person and ride in one.

I would love to add an NSX to my car collection at some point. Need to get more garage space first.


I actually really dislike the spoiler up look when the car is parked. It's an active rear wing for a reason.
