4/13/2012
The first delivery of a Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package to a customer in Europe happened today. The vehicle, orange with black interior, has been purchased by a UK-based customer.
The LFA Nürburgring Package has been optimized to deliver higher performance on the track, with a number of modifications made to the standard Lexus LFA.
It includes a carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) front spoiler and fixed rear wing to enhance aerodynamic performance. It also comes with track tuned suspension , exclusive mesh-type wheels and dedicated, high-grip tyres to improve maneuverability and stability. Compared to the standard LFA’s output of 412 kW (560 PS), the output of the LFA Nürburgring Package has been raised to 420 kW (571 PS). This ensures that the LFA maintains its acceleration time of 0 -100km/h in just 3.7seconds and a 325km/h maximum speed, despite the additional drag create d by increased downforce.
Available in Matte Black, Black, White and Orange, the Nürburging Package equipped LFA’s exterior is complimented by a choice of three interior colour schemes – Black and Red, Black and Purple, and all Black. All feature a carbon fibre centre console and door trims, while the carbon fibre bucket seats are trimmed in Alcantara.
Customers purchasing a LFA Nürburging Package also receive an individual instruction on the Nordschleife by one of the Nürburging chief instructors and a one year driving pass on the Nordschleife.
On August 31, 2011 Lexus undertook a performance check with the LFA Nürburging Package on the Nürburging (Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany) Nordschleife (North Loop), where the LFA was extensively developed. Driven by a professional race driver and LFA test driver, Akira Iida, the car recorded a lap time of just 7:14.64.
The LFA Nürburgring Package makes out 50 of the limited 500 production run of the LFA.
