Usually it is not. In most cases it is +1 of the last three digits, but has been up to +3 in the past. We need someone to lay eyeballs on the badge between the seats.
I beg to differ, there is one 10 feet from me, I have a copy of the actual build sheet printed from Lexus Dealer Daily... the sequential number of this car is the same as the last three of the VIN.
I see you own one so maybe its a coincidence that they match... I think I'm going to make a call and see if I am mistaken... my eyes do not deceive though.

There's one near me too (although admittedly quite a bit more than 10 feet away). One unit of five hundred does not a numbering scheme make.
Physically look at the VIN on the dash and the badge between the seats if you can. You might have the rare model where the two numbers actually match, but out of every single LFA that I have documented I can't remember seeing one.

Same, I don't recall encountering one. However, we've always left the possibility open since the VIN has been lower than the badge number - although it's interesting to note the gap has grown during the production run.
When I get back on Monday I need to look at the build sheet. I seem to remember there being a temporary build vin and the permanent one assigned to it. I'll add it to my call list.
The sequential build number is the last three digits of the VIN.
That is false. There has been a variance of 2 to 3 digits off vin# and sequential LFA #. Only the first few were on point with their actual 17 digit vin#.

Ya, what he said...
The vin and build # are indeed off by two, but the extra set of wheels and tires look good!
