It is fixable but probably will cost more than what the car is worth...suspension most likely needs to be replaced, wheels, hood, front bumper, numerous supports, right door, leather seat is most likely damaged due to shattered glass, right a pillar could be tweaked, door glass, dash would be need to be replaced due to air bag deploy, right interior carbon door trim damaged, passenger compartment needs to be replaced, rear right 1/4 panel, both fenders may beed to be replaced, right rocker panel, headlamps could have tabs damaged, right door mirror assembly, plus many minor parts....

Obviously I don't want to see any LFA crashed, but it's the reality if they're going to be driven around.

During the factory tour, I was told that Lexus intends to provide lifelong product support to LFA owners. That means they have built enough parts during the factory operation to sustain repair work or have the ability to continue to build parts to do so.

As mentioned previously, damage to the monocoque requires shipping the car to Toyota Motorsport in Cologne.

Damage to CFRP outside the monocoque is enlisted to Lexus-approved bodywork facilities. There are three in the US (basically splitting the country into west, central, and east); don't know about Japan or China or how they do those types of repairs there.

It's painful to see such a beautiful, limited run car succumb to this. If it was hit by some idiot, I would have that person's head on a stake, or impaled. Lets not forget that this is in China & you can get away with anything, with a deep pocket.

If it was the driver, driving like an idiot & without proper driver training for a high performance machine, then the driver should be shamed, somehow. A car like that may have many driver aids, but driver aids is useless if the person can't drive. The car isn't easy to drive at high speed (through corners), as many people would assume, unless you know what you're doing. Until there is more details on the story, judgement will be delayed.

Sad day for Lexus LFA

these type of cars you can insure as much as you want, declared value. Thats how Mr Bean was able to fix his McLaren F1 that had $1.5M in damage for a car with $4M value, since he declared the value to be that much and had an appropriate insurance premium for it. So I doubt it would be totalled out.
