So I just got out of work, and I'm driving down Lancaster Ave. when out of the corner of my eye, I see ... A Lexus LF-A.
WHAAAAAAAT?????!!!!!!
I had to get a closer look, naturally; so I did a U-Turn immediately.
After a few pics, I went inside the building to inquire about who's it was; so I asked the secretary. She seemed to like my enthusiasm, and I said to her: "Ma'am, this is a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity; so I had to come in and ask. Truthfully, I've seen more Lamborghini's on the road, than I have the LF-A; it's so rare. In fact, even millionaires are on a waiting-list for that car ($375,000ea.).
So she called the owner right there on the spot, and said: "Sir, we have your first request ... There is a young gentleman here from Planet Fitness, who wants to know if you would be kind enough, to start-up the LF-A so he can hear it ... "
Not only did he start 'er up - HE OFFERED ME A RIDE!!!
Dude, I wish I didn't look like ****, just outta work, but whatever.
It was SICK!
Sweetest man ever too; he was so nice.
You could even tell from the smile on his face, that he loved that car. He prolly wanted to drive it anyway, and my being there was a good excuse to leave the office for a minute, haha
Who knows, but a very nice gentleman ...
The only thing I regret, is not having thought about the wind. I wanted to capture the unique sound of the engine, but in my excitement about the whole thing, I forgot about the winds interference ... Still, there's a moment where you'll get to hear it from the interior, so it's not too bad.
In sum, I just checked off an item on my Bucket List.
I have video also, but for some reason it won't load; neither here, nor Photobucket
MODS: I don't wanna break the rules, but just so you guys can see, can I post my Facebook URL, 'cus the video is on my page ...
Reminds me of the day I saw a Tesla convertible parked in front of my house. First one I had ever seen. The owner happened to come by and he let me DRIVE the car after we talked about it for a bit.
Did he rev the engine all the way up to 9500 rpm and go through a few gears so that you could feel the acceleration g forces and the F1 racing engine sound?
Something part of would never want to do.....as I would almost never be able to own one...(truth be told, if I was spending $375,000 on a sports car, there are a lot of options in that price or under that)
