Lexus LFA going from under appreciated to highly desired
Folks,
I have been following the stories on the LFA for year. Countless comments of it being late to the game, underpowered, over priced, etc.. etc.. the list of complaints just kept increasing. However, over the last year, especially overseas, the comments keep coming in about how this is now suddenly "one of the best sports cars ever made"... What's changed? What do the europeans know or appreciate about the LFA that we havent realized just yet?
My theory is that with the increase in such great cars as the Mclaren Mp412C, New GT3 RS etc.. we are losing true "driver involvement".. I've been lucky enough to drive all host of supercars over the years and can say without hesitation that "driver pleasure" comes from multiple sensations, the feel of the steering, the sound of the engine, the connection to the road through the suspension etc.. the LFA has all of these in spades, it's raw yet civilized, truly awesome.
Clarkson is right (this time anyway!).. the LFA is truly the best "drivers" car ever.. If you can't believe a lexus is better than a ferrari, porsche, mclaren, lamborghini etc.. before you say anything.. DRIVE IT!
The LFA is a bargin and won't stay this way for long!

Agreed. There is nothing out there that sounds like the LFA or responds like it engine wise or chassis wise. The brilliance all comes from the very basics - rigid carbon chassis + RWD + race tuned suspension + ultra high revving N/A engine that responds like an F1 car.
No funky electronic gizmos like torque vectoring differential, AWD or super slick racing tires (like Corsa Trofeo R or Michelin Cup 2 etc.) that are found on every supercar now in a fierce battle to get the car to put down quicker lap times than the competition.
