That tells you the demand for this car is low, dealer won't discount you a penny if they don't have to.

Corrected it for you.

I searched Ebay and could not find the listing. Wonder what happened?

The listing (linked from OP) now says "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.", which could mean either that the dealer found a buyer offline or that the dealership changed its mind and wants to keep the car to itself.

If the buyer backed out, then it's not really discounted, since the dealer already got $60,000. The non-discounted MSRP is the price for an LFA made to order. Even counting having to re-price any options, this is clearly more valuable than a pre-spec'd LFA. Especially when that LFA is brown.

Nevertheless, we already know demand for the car does not meet supply in the USA. We don't need resale details to know that.

Is funny how there is no clear, detailed pics of the interior! Maybe they think the color combo is too ugly, it might deter potential buyers?

I can see it now - an eBay auction for a "mystery LFA". It's real, you just won't know the colors until after you pay for it.

Posts from Autoblog user CMusic:

"I bet Herb Chambers himself was the original buyer. Herb was on two episodes of Discovery Theater's Chasing Classic Cars where host Wayne Carini found his original 1972 Daytona Spider at a Ferrari dealership in Denver. In the first episode Wayne and Herb flew out to Denver in a snow storm in Herb's personal jet (might have been a G5) and Herb bought the car for 1 million. Wayne brought the car back to his shop and rebuilt and restored it in its original color, which is almost exactly the same color as this LFA. Herb also has a Daytona Coupe in the same copper color to match the Spider. Wayne took the Spider to a Ferrari event in Florida and won a trophy in the car's class in the second episode.

Here's some pics of the restored 1972 Daytona Spider with Wayne standing next to it."

Interesting connection to the dealership owner's previous car, but Autoblog also reported that they called the dealership and was told a story that "the original orderer of the car came in to inspect it, got a walk-around with Lexus' LFA-specific expert who was on-hand to assist, briefly drove it and then decided he would let someone else purchase it.", in which case there's no fault on Lexus's part (retracting my blame from my previous post).

they should just drop $10,000 and wrap it in matte white vinyl and call it a day!

The color is a surprise You won't get to see it until you pay for the car, they blind fold you, put you in the car, hand you the key and kick you out
