Modify DRL system on US model to Canadian standards
I purchased a 2021 IS350 F in the US and recently moved to Montreal, Qc, Canada. The DRL system needs to be modified in order to import the car into Canada. Canadian standards require DRL to be "ON" as soon as you start the engine, with no possibility of turning the system "OFF". So, to make the car compliant:
1- The "DRL OFF" position needs to be "inactivated" (this position isn't available on Canadian models)
2- The "Auto" position need to turn DRL "ON" as soon as you start the engine (it's only "ON" while in gear on US models)
I expected this to be easy to fix, but it turns out no Lexus dealer or repair shop seem to know how to do this. Any suggestions?

Don't know for sure but this can probably be programmed via Techstream. Now setting up and using Techstream is a whole other kettle of fish if you want to go down that road do a search there are quite a few threads on the subject.

I have the same issue with GS350 2013 that has DRL OFF position. Lexus service could not help. I'm thinking about disassembling the switch and physically plugging the DRL OFF lever position. Have you found the solution? Please share. Thanks a lot...

Dear Dankud,
A mechanic did a bypass of the DRL auto switch to ground. DRL are on in the AUTO and DRL OFF positions and headlamps turn on automatically at night. However, they can't be turned on manually which is an issue. I'm still looking for a better solution. Yours's seems fairly simple. Let me know if it works.

I'm back with some good news. The DRL will turn on automatically when you start the car if the hand brake is off. Make sure to disengage the auto function before going for an inspection. As far as the DRL OFF issue, I'm still working on it.
