Talking 111,000 miles and haven't blown a light bulb- Is something wrong with my Lexus?

I just got back from final exams and my Calculus test procotor was LATE because he was replacing a bulb in his wife's E-class...before an exam?--weirdo . Anyway, he claims in just 2 years and 35,000 miles he's replaced three bulbs.

So, this has me thinking; my ES has gone 9 years and 111,000 miles with the lights turned on during overcast and night conditions (about 75% of my driving) and has never burnt a single bulb (excluding headlights- which I've played around with - HID, silverstars, etc.- but the stock bulbs continue to work).

What's the trick? Are Toyota's bulbs longer lasting than those used in other cars? Does it have to do with the wiring?

This mystery is bugging me, not that I have a problem with it or anything of course .

it's a matter of voltage and current. the mercedes burn brighter, as easily seen. They have a slightly better amount of lumination when on the road, but the drawback to running hot bulbs is frequent replacement.

I too have noticed on the roads that maybe one Lexus in a blue moon has either a blown bulb on the headlight or tailight, while the rest (i.e. Benz, VW, Kia, Acura) would have noticeable electrical problems. You should be proud that our electrical system is one of the most stable in the business

Default I can beat that.

In addition to my GS4, I have a 15 year old (1989) Thunderbird Supercoupe with 220k on it that has ALL it's original bulbs, including headlights. Not a single one has burned out, inside or out.

Weird though.
