Hey guys,

I just read through the sticky on the GS bulbs....and I am still unsure as to which bulb i need for lower rear brake lamp. Mine went out this morning and I wanna pick up a bulb on the way home and dont have tools on me to pop it out and see before I buy.

Rear lower Brake bulb = ??

Also, what the best luck people have had with backup bulb replacements? polarg? if so, which M# bulb again?

Im pretty happy with my front end lighting. Stock HIDs, PIAAS superwhite wedges for running (tried LEDs a while back, hated them), and piaa spark blue FOGS in clear housings (these bulbs are VERY close to hid color ($100+ for the set). Have never done anything with the rear bulbs, so new to that.

umm... i don't know the exact size of the lower taillight bulb, but it's pretty big with two filaments in it. it's pretty common i believe.

for the backup bulb, the 98-00 taillights and te 01+ taillights are different. i think one is m2 and one is m12, again i forgot (way too long ago). but the 98 one is pretty big, and the 01+ one is a lot smaller

and i use polarg. when it comes to these wedge bulbs, i think polarg gives the best color

I got the M6 in my backup/reverse tail lights on my '01.

All brake light bulbs on the GS are 7443's. Reverse lights are 7440's. Funny thing is they put 7443s in the top bulb placements, but the top bulbs aren't used for brake lights. BananaGS has a 15 min. DIY mod that will enable the top bulbs to also be used as brake lights. Much better than stock.

I can confirfm the7443 fitment. I had the dead light indicator show up on my dash the other day. Turned out to be the upper bulb in my rear lights, which is 7443 as well. Of course, I buy a set and the next day the indicator is gone. It must have been the -15 degree temp the other morning. It was dead on the cold day, but is back now that we're in positive temps.

ok thanks guys.

its funny, mine was on and off for a month.
id remote start the car, and before i got in id TAP the thing and it would come on....they the other day, tapping stopped working. damn im lazy.
i cant wait until spring.

new rims sitting in my living room, new spoiler, new tailights....i cant wait.
