Default diy for hid headlight install?

I just got my hid headlights today, thanks to importfan. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if there is a diy for this? Do I have to remove the front bumper? Thanks in advance.

Default Some helpful info #1

Front bumper and headlight removal

Here's some info to help you out.

1. Of course, BEFORE YOU START--DISCONNECT THE BATTERY so you don't get shocked. The HID setup has a high voltage transformer.

2. You'll need to remove the front bumper.

a. Attached as an Adobe PDF file is a blow-up view of the front bumper--you don't need to remove everything, but this guide should help. (For the bumper: 4 bolts on top to the frame, and 3 per side (2 are for the side retainer) to the frame, plus the 10 that hold the engine undercover onto it).
b. Check out BananaGS's website for some pics on how to remove the front bumper--it looks quite helpful as a guide:

http://lexusmodz.netfirms.com/

http://lexusmodz.netfirms.com/GS_DIY...nal/index.html (specifically)

3. Remove the old OEM halogen headlights (3 bolts that hold each headlight onto the car's frame--2 on top, 1 on the front). Unplug the wiring harnesses to the headlights.

4. Install the replacement OEM HID headlights onto the car.

5. Hook up the HID headlight wiring harnesses. Up until this point, it's relatively straighforward, but I'm not 100% sure on this, but you might need to buy a Lexus harness adapter to get your non-HID car's normal wiring harnesses to interface with the OEM HID harnesses (I think that's all). I think there have been a couple of posts on this. Highly unlikely, but if all else fails, I can find the wiring diagrams and you could splice them together--but again, I think it's only a matter of harness fitment (and it may very well just be plug and play. . .)

6. Reconnect the battery and test your headlights--make sure it all lights up.

7. Reinstall your front bumper and make sure everything is lined up. Congrats!

8. Aim your headlights properly. See my next post for this. . .

Conservatively plan on about 3 hours for this for a first timer (and to make sure you do it all right).

It would be hard for you to get electrocuted...but you may get SHOCKED by the price

...its about $2K to do this mod with new OEM HID parts.
