Yes I have done this.
You need to get new led's in 3mm. Pick your color and brightness. Using the led specs, calculate the resistor you need. Take out the board in the switch, desolder the stock led and resistor and solder in the new ones, taking note of polarity.
I did this to mine. All window switches, lock, a/c panel, hazard light, etc etc.
