I still wish it was that easy for the SCs. I've been dying to do this but have to rip apart my entire center console. Looks great! BTW, as for the covers on those bulbs, sometimes they won't come off because the bulb as too hot and melted the rubber onto the bulb. So when you try to remove the cover, it will rip.

I got mines from www.autolumination.com

Some of us are trying out www.superbrightleds.com ....personally, I have not tried them, but they are very responsive to my questions.

Pete

Hey guys, what about these coloured rubber covers, can I buy them somewhere?
I changed my door panel lights to the super white light ones (bulbs are blue) but I wanted to get the blue effect.
I'm thinking the blue rubber covers as are found on the stock ignition light would do the trick but where do I get them??? Any idea?

Thanks

1. What car do you have?

2. You want to change your door panel lights - are you referring to the ones at the bottom of the doors? Why not just get blue LED's? You can get those on http://www.superbrigtleds.com . Don't bother getting replacment incandescent bulbs, just get LED's.

You beat me to the post Pete. I replaced mine a few weeks ago using blue #74 LED. Awesome. Even if you were to do it with a green LED, it would look better than stock.

i used red bulbs for my PRNDL, key ring and footwell/glovebox lights and they're fairly bright. i used some red LED's for my center dome and map lights and they're less bright then when i had red bulbs.

did i choose the wrong LED? i got both the bulbs and LED's from autoillumination.com. i'd like to switch over to all LED but unless i picked the wrong LED, they arent any brighter then the bulb. Is itb ecause of the natural weakness of the red color?

Go into the "Buy Now" section, you'll find the #74 in there, scroll down and/or to the second page.

A high-intensity LED can be brighter than a bulb filament in many cases, but it will always be more directional. The highest intensity level is that coming straight out of the LED. Depending on the lensing characteristics, the light intensity can rapidly fall off as you move to the side of the LED, unlike a bulb. Note that there are different efficiencies for LEDs, and what you purchase may not be the highest efficiency available. You would need to compare specs of different ones, typically expressed in lumens, or millicandelas, at a given milliampere rating.
