I wanted to setup a thread to demonstrate the differences of beam patterns between HID cars from the factory, HID kits, HID retrofits and Halogen. I think this may serve as a guide for all the new people trying to make a choice regarding which route to take as well as picking the right equpment in their projects. I guess I'll lead by example: Here's a few from my latest project

The E39 units are known for high powered lighting. They are featured on all BMW 5 series cars with HID and X5 BMW trucks. The new lineup of BMWs including the 2004 7 Series use an altered version that includes high beam function and lowbeam from the same projector. E39 features intense foreground lighting, a good dispersal of light to the sides, and a good amount of color flicker on the cuttoff edges of the beam which can even be modified for more color




Its really not that yellow like in the last pic. More like a whiter bluer beam pattern. My camera has a bad
white auto balance. So capturing the true color and contrast is tough to do on a Largan
Chameleon Digicam thats worth $50.00.
