Just an update. I tried these again and was able to get them into my wedge housing WITHOUT bending or modding the bulb at all. You just need to install them at an angle...one side at a time.....the driver side maybe a bit more challenging cuz there is little room to play with.

Just FYI.

Default As promised, Polarg J-51 LEDs night photos

Why I think they're the best :

1 ) --- They're 4800K, the closest match so far for the factory GS HIDs. Yes--even better than polarg M4s.

2 ) --- They have radial slits along the side of the bulb allowing light to shine from both the sides as well as the top of the bulb, effectively providing an omni-directional light source ( unlike most LEDs which are unidirectional and forward pointing only.)

3 ) --- They're REALLY bright. About 2--3 X brighter than the M4 polargs which I used to have. I'm truly astounded by the light output of these tiny bulbs.

4 ) --- They draw the same voltage as the stock wedge bulbs(12V) so they shouldn't burn out prematurely like the polarg M6. They are also the same size as the stock 194 wedge bulbs so installation is a straightforward one-to-one swap.

5 ) --- MOST importantly, I installed them on my GS today and can personally attest to how good they are!

The only caution I can bring up is that I've only had them for 1 day so their lifespan is uncertain. However, the packaging says these bulbs are made in Japan so they should be reliable.

I feel strongly that anyone looking to better match their stock GS HIDs should consider these before any other alternatives. A pair from Polarg's local agent in Singapore cost me 48 SGD=29 USD.

For those in other countries, here's a link to your local Polarg supplier :

http://www.nissei-polarg.co.jp/contact/index.html

PS : I'll post up digital photos of my new lights tomorrow.
Gentlemen! Apologies for the delay but without further ado :

Polarg J-51LEDS from about 15feet, HIDs are OFF :

Both LEDS and stock 4300k HIDs are ON :

Right sided LED closeups :

All photos taken without flash and of course unedited. From the photos, I hope you can see why I'm excited about these bulbs.
They're the closest to stock HIDs in color and yet they also illuminate the wedge housings better than any other bulb except perhaps the Polarg M6s.
In fact, they were so bright, they helped the HIDs light up the road better than the stock orange wedge lights!

Again, here's the link to your local Polarg resupplier :

http://www.nissei-polarg.co.jp/contact/index.html

Incidentally PIAA has a similar LED bulb both in 4500K(for stock HIDs)aka PIAA TERA LED :

http://www.piaa.co.jp/whatsnew/whats...ew?Info_ID=139

and in 5500K aka PIAA SUPER TERA LED for those with 6000K HIDs :

http://www.piaa.co.jp/piaa_web_new/0...01_super_tera/

I suspect the PIAA TERA LEDs may be even better than my Polarg J-51s.

In conclusion, we need no longer compromise between looks and brightness for our wedge lights-- these LEDs match better as well as illuminate better then stock wedge 194 bulbs.

I'm holding the box in my hand -- the model is J-51 and the part # is P2310W.

This tallies with the info on Polarg's product webpage :

Default convenient access to the best wedge bulbs

I couldn't find any online shop for the Polarg J-51 LEDs but these bulbs seem to share similar design and in fact may be better than the J-51s.

PIAA Tera 4500K :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PIAA-...QQcmdZViewItem

PIAA Super Tera 5500K :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PIAA-...QQcmdZViewItem

Belof Sirius Super LED 5000K :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BELLO...QQcmdZViewItem

I hope these links prove useful to my fellow CL members in Europe and NA who don't have local suppliers of these bulbs in their country.

I went on Pete's recommendation that they match stock HID's pretty well. Tried PIAA XtremeWhite last night and wasn't too impressed with them, but much better than stock.

Pete, I assumed you had the 4-LED ones and not the 6-LED, based on your picture of the package and the fact that they were 0.5 Watts, while the 6-LED ones are 0.7 watts. Unfortunately I can't read Japanese.
engin_ear,

Did you ever receive them from Sigma? I just placed an order a few days ago, but got no e-mail confirmation.

Default A long and convoluted appeal for patience

I'm going to contradict myself here and ask that none of my CL brothers and sisters with stock 4300K HIDs get the Polarg J-51's as yet.

NOT because the J-51's are poor -- on the contrary, they blow away every wedge bulb I've tried( I've tried polarg M4's, velocity 5 LED HID White Super Refractors, Phillips T10s and a few no-name brand LEDs etc).

However, I'm about to purchase a set of wedges which could potentially upstage the J-51's--the PIAA H-374.

I have to say that PIAA has a terrible marketing department. I've mentioned PIAA LEDs in my 2 recent posts : the PIAA Tera(4500K) and Super Tera(5500K) :

http://www.piaa.co.jp/whatsnew/whats...ew?Info_ID=139
http://www.piaa.co.jp/piaa_web_new/0...01_super_tera/

Apparently, they're superior to the Polarg J-51 because while the Polargs are 10X brighter than normal LEDs, these PIAA bulbs are 12X brighter than normal LEDs. However, these PIAA LEDs run on 1 watt current and would blow if connected directly to the stock wedge light circuits which carry 5 watts, hence they come with resistors that the enduser is supposed to cut and splice into the wiring in order to reduce the power running into the LEDs :

http://www.priracing.co.uk/product.php?xProd=159
http://www.priracing.co.uk/e/PIAATera.pdf

I didn't feel comfortable cutting and splicing as it could void the warranty on my electronics/lamps.

HOWEVER, PIAA has developed another newer model that run on a higher wattage AND is even brighter( 18X brighter than normal LEDs!!!). These new model LEDs are strictly plug and play and require no cutting and splicing of circuitry. The confusing thing is -- they are not even advertised on PIAA's website unlike the older model LEDs and they are also called Super Teras (like the 5500K older models) but are 4500K and need no splicing/cutting. The only way to tell the difference is the model no : older TERA is H-370, older SUPER TERA is H-371 and the newest 4500K plug and play SUPER TERA is H-374

So in nutshell :

Polarg J-51 ------------------------- 10X brighter, 4800K, plug'n'play, personally tested US$29
PIAA H-370(aka TERA) ---------- 12X brighter, 4500K, splicing req, not personally tested US$65
PIAA H-371(SUPER TERA) ---- 12X brighter, 5500K, splicing req, not personally tested US$69
PIAA H-374(SUPER TERA) ---- 18X brighter, 4500K, plug'n'play, about to purchase US$80!!!

The prices I obtained for the Polargs and the PIAA H-374 are from the local Singapore agent converted into USD. The PIAA H-370 and H-371 are from the cheapest ebay prices I found online.

Some might baulk at the $80 price tag of the PIAA H-374 LEDs but research online from end-users have been favorable--some even called these latest LEDs "mini-HIDs". The local Singapore agent keeps these LEDs under lock and key since they are apparently highly sought after and easily concealed/shoplifted.

Reviews(all from Japan,use google to translate) :

http://carlife.carview.co.jp/UserCar...arNoteID=45986

http://www7.plala.or.jp/DMN/HA22S/

http://www7.plala.or.jp/DMN/HA22S/te...wedge_bulb.htm

I'll keep you guys posted in 1-2 weeks time about my personal experience with these latest and hopefully greatest wedge LEDs(they better be for 80 bucks!) Hopefully someone will stll be reading this thread.

If they are as good as I hope they are, the only solution for North American CL members is to bug Carson Toyota or TM Engineering to do a special indent from Japan/Group Buy or else hope that they come on sale on ebay. Apparently PIAA USA ( http://www.piaa.com/LEDs/LEDs.html ) doesn't sell them in NA.

Default well...

If you are really keen on getting the Polarg J-51's, the local Singapore agent that I bought from apparently also does overseas shipments :

http://www.concordeauto.com.sg/company%20info.htm

They're listed as official Polarg agents on the Polarg Japan website.

Good Luck!

thanks for the link up to their email man, i appreciate it...im just wonderin though, alot of polarg products are sold in the US, why are these particular bulbs so hard to get a hold of, are they not available for sale in the US at all anywhere? ill probably end up paying more for shipping then the cost of the actual light lol...oh well....on top of that...hows the other situation going with the other bulbs you said you were getting...did they show up yet?
