HID Question!!
so hid experts! hehe
are the reflectors on the non-hid 2nd gen gs low beams
the same to those on the hid-gs housings?
this is my question because if i get a hid system on my non-hid
housing, will the beam pattern look nearly like the oem hid style?
thanks HID experts

it shouldn't be too hard to retrofit, cz' you just need to get the base to change it from d2r to 9006. you also need to find a place to mount the ballasts and splice the wirings for the power connectors.
however, the housing itself is different, the reflector on the housing is different from that of the hid headlights, so you will still not get the right light pattern. it just won't work right.
that's why i said it's better to just get 9006 hid kits, or better yet get oem hid headlights swap

Ok.....
Ok, I see what you are saying... It won't look the way the OEM HID housings will look right?? But they will work, and I am guessing you mean they won't look as good as an aftermarket 9006 kit either right? Do you or anyone have pix of what the pattern will look like installed??? The Lexus HID kit in a the non HID equipped GS housings?? 99 GS. I will probably do it anyway, just because I have the kit already. Besides, it looks so much simpler without all the wires i had with the aftermarket... I didn't like the way it connected to the 9006 plugs with those tow little prongs. One more question.. as far as splicing.. we are talking about the 9006 plug right??? the kit I have, has a black and red wire.. I am assuming these go to that plug?? I had replaced those like 3 times in the past when I was messing around with those cheap "HID" $24 9006 bulbs. They burned my wires like 3 times. I finally did solve that buy buying the 9005 pigtails and using those... But that was then. Anyway, thanks for the scoop....
thanks for the info....
