Here's a quick update before the pics go up

There's one thing I don't like about my Euro ver. E46s projectors....Their cutoff step is too high. Kinda like the H7 Euro ver. Valeo Projector. The good news is that you can flip the shield to a flat one like ___.___ . Its a Wierd pattern but it may be a choice of mine because I've been having problems aiming my setup (mainly the driver's side) these past couple days. My problem will have to be fixed by me either flipping one or both shields over to the other pattern or by reopening my lamps and trimming the bottom of the shroud because its the edge of that is touching the edge of my ES300 silver trims on my headlamp. I'll have pics up later tonight. I'm heading to my sister's to grab her Sony 5 Megapixel since my camera takes crap HID pics

http://hidplanet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=76536#76536

For some reason it won't let me post all of them here and I'm too tired to pic the top 3-5 tonght. To see all of my pics, you'll have to go to the gallery and browse around. Enjoy!

More pics are in the gallery. I'll take some specific cuttoff shtos maybe this weekend if I get some time. And yes they do flicker and do the violet/blue blinging thing.

Looks even better in person! Trust me, I'm turning enough heads as is with the SC430 wheels. Now I've given more people a reason to snap their necks. Everywhere I go everyone stares. I dont' know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Time to upgrade my Prestige security system lol

Parts....about 100 for a spare set of ES300 lamps from my local supplier and <40.00 everything else because I already had this HID equipment from my last car(which I originally retrofitted). The rest were spent on misc. supplies like my shroud pieces and things for redoing my wire harness, screws etc. Labor about 3 days because of my crazy work schedule and the business I run

As for the DRL bulb sticking out, thats how they come with this car (well thats how these spare lamps came)

Done and done! (4 now )

Keep in mind, the ECE Bosch projector responds very well to shield bending/washer color modding. However, as surprising as this may sound, I'm not a big color in the cuttoff buff. Its cool for a while but then ehh. So for me, whats important is that I have a nice spread, ease of installation, sharp cuttoff and a good amount of light put out on the ground. I rate these E46 ECE's an overall 8.5 out of 10. (10 being the highest in each of these areas) . I'll keep them for a while then eventually sell them when I'm ready for something else. As for now enjoy the pics and for my Chicago people, let's have a meet so you can see them in person. HID's amazing

Alot sharper than the camera is showing. The spread is amazing. My beam pattern spreads out about 4-5 lanes. I was out last night and pretty much dwarfed every car I came across including other cars with OEM hid. I was only bested by a TSX Acura and an S2K but not by much. Their cuttoff lines along the walls were a tad bit sharper but that's about it. Hope this helps. I'm going to set the camera to 5 megapixel and try some pics again. I think it was set at 3M

Few more shots I took while out tonight enjoying my HIDs and continuing to turn heads all over.
I was up by Northwestern's Campus in Evanston, IL. and snapped a couple pics down a pitch dark street

Awesome stuff!!!

So much difference between retrofit HID's compared to plug-n-play HID's I got the plug n play, I would just need the HID projectors, correct??? Hopefully there's no difference between RHD and LHD? (I'm in Australia).

Looks tops dude! Good work.

Actually, Soarer, you will need new bulbs. You will need to get a pair of D2S HID bulbs. These are the ones that are made to fit HID projectors. I recommend Philips 4300K only. Its the brightest and once they get burned in around 50 hours or so they begin to color shift to a natural blue (nice color). Post a pic of your car
