Default Farenheit lamps

I've searched the forum and read the FAQ's, but I need a little more "opinion" from you folks.

The general rule seems to be to stay away from 100W lamps, as the lighting harness may "melt". I've been running the Farenheit 90W/100W H4's in my '91 Toyota MR2 for a few years now - not the first sign of wiring issues.

It seems what I've seen so far is that the wiring looks like any other Toyota I've worked on.

Has anybody actually had a bad experience with high-wattage lamps such as the Farenheit 9006 and 9005?

Are lenses an issue due to the greater heat generated by these lamps?

Have you noticed problems, such as reduced lamp life, running the Xenon-enhanced lamps as DRL's? (The halogen cycle may not be complete due to the reduced lamp voltage as DRL's.)

Thanks,
Mitch

Yes, I had my harness burn up on a 93 GS300, 96 300ZX, and my 95 SC400 before I did the HID conversion. Usually started burning up after 6-12 months

I went through about 5 harnesses before I finally got the clue to stop using those bulbs.
