Will 100 watts 9006 hi beam melt my wires?

Default Will 100 watts 9006 hi beam melt my wires?

it's not like i run around with my high beams all the time...only when i need too...for short periods of time..it it okay? I mean..isn't there a fuse to prevent that from happening?

well...why would you need 100watts in the first place? my thinking on this is that the housing will not be able to handle the heat even over short periods of time. the current draw may not blow the fuse and you are correct on the fuse melting before the wires will. But near the housing with the extra heat I wouldnt be surprised to see the insulation on the wires become soft, and this may cause a short. Whatever you do, do not put a higher rated fuse in. The very purpose of that fuse is to prevent the wires from burning up in case of a short.

Dont try it. Wait, save the cash, then go with an HID kit for under $500 for serious improvement.

The Lexus Dealer will max out all your cards and accounts if you bring them a Lex with melted wiring...

they salivate at the mere idea...
