I just connected some projectors to my ballast to see how much of a difference it would make with them. What a difference between my aftermarket HID plug and play and the projectors. Great cutoff and more usable light output. At least I'm able to use my ballasts and ignitors from the plug and play kit I bought but I should have done the retrofit from the beginning but you live and you learn. Happy I'm going the retrofit route now.

I just installed some cheap *** Ebay $135 HID kit on my SC and works great. 5 min to install, kit didnt require a ground or a separate battery power nor relays. Very simple plug and play.
I have a nice cutoff too (96 SC300). My buddy had a 95 SC300 and his cutoff was fine too.

LOL! The above post is mine. I guess my friend didnt log off my comp and I posted with his name. Haha. Anyways Ill update after a week or so of how the kit is holding up and if you want to know what kit i bought I can link you.
Ive sold HID kits and installed them on various cars and if you have a projector lense it usually has a cutoff. The main difference I noticed when mixing and matching and testing various kits is the cheaper kit ballast might be a tad bit weaker. Like a phillips or hella ballast gives a tad bit more brighter intensity but works basically the same. Im testing this ebay one to see how well it lasts.
Also I only recommend 4300K because the other colors make it harder to see. Max I would go to 5000K, 4300K seems the best.
