I found this going through the gallery looking for a quick pic to show someone. I'm posting this here because some folks have been looking for this lately and it looks as if it actually exists! Basically, you send your headlights out to a company in Japan called Hilltop, and they'll send them back cleared like so...all for an unreasonably high cost of around $750-800.

as in...

how long will i have to drive w/out headlights if i decide to do this someday????

It would be worth the effort to clear them yourself (ie: deline). Time consuming but if you're saving $700+, you do the math.

i don think we can deline.

we have glass lenses, not plastic, so we would somehow have to grind the glass clear and have it still be optically correct.

you could prob find some one who works with plastic and just swap out the glass pices with the plastic ones.there has got to be people out there who like mold and desgin plastc or glass

Yup. There's a guy on HID planet.com who does this but he says he only did it once because it was a pain in the you know what and isn't doing it for anyone else. I don't blame him. Lense transplants aren't easy to do and I've done a couple in the past myself. All plastic though. Not that much different with that vs. lense transplanting with glass to plastic. If you would want it done locally, I would seek out a shop that does plastic fusion/molding to see what their fees are and go from there.

he'll do anything as long as he's getting paid the right amount...

the custom job he did for the NSX involved cutting out the glass lenses and molding the polyurethane i think it was to fit the lenses he cut out...turned out VERY clean and VERY OEM (as most his work does...)
